Notes & Instructions Here are the Christmas pencil toppers. Here are the instructions for sewing out the pencil toppers: In your 5x7 hoop, hoop a regular size, pre-cut sheet of felt, white for the snowmen or the santa, green for the tree, brown for the gingerbread men. 1 hooping will sew out 4 snowmen, or 4 santas, or 4 trees, or 4 gingerbread men or 2 large gingerbread men.( I have now added files that will stitch out in the 4x4 hoop. They stitch out as 2 designs per hooping except the large gingerbread man 1 per hooping. They will also sew out slightly smaller than designs for the 5x7 hoop. Cut one sheet of felt so that one side is 6 12wide and one is 5 12 wide. Hoop the 6 12 piece, and use the 5 12 piece to slide under the hoop.) No stablizer is needed (but I use a light tear-away), be careful not to stretch the felt when hooping. Thread up your machine and stitch as shown on the screen. When you get to the step that says applique for the next thread change, leave the black thread in the machine ( for the tree leave the gold color thread in the machine). Leave the 1st piece of felt in the hoop, and slip another piece of felt (same color is best) under the hoop. If its easier to remove the hoop to place the felt under it, do so, being careful to not bump the embroidery arm out of place. Continue stitching in black (or gold on tree) . Cut out the finished designs, and then slip a candy stick or pencil inside the opening. A special thanks to my friend Janet (JaniMoe) for the Halloween pencil toppers and your great ideas!
