Rita: As long as you are careful not to poke through the fabic it is fine to cut the stabilizer down between the letters, lines of text or anywhere else you fell is helpful. I do this most of of the time anyway so I am not pulling on the fabric as much when I tear it away. I have used Ann's tear...

Hi Jo, I always use the water soluable on top of any design,it helps lay the stitches on top of the fabric a bit more.there are many different weights of that as well, the one I use is the one at ATG .So far it is the best I have used,it is fairly economical, and it has never failed me yet. By using the...

I can not stress enough the fact ALWAYS,ALWAYS ,ALWAYS do test sew outs for any type of fabric. It is the best way to tell what stabilizers you need for that particular item. Some may need two, three even more .I never do any embroidery without WSS on the top.It just makes every project come out nicer...

I know it has almost always been my experience, 7 years and counting, that strong stabilizers are most important. Lollie is very correct, be careful that you do not stretch...

Rita - You make such a great point about multiple ways to remove stabilizers. I hope others will add their favorite methods. Pat

I have been embroidering like crazy the past week or two, and I have both a comment about water soluble stabilizer and a question about tear away stabilizer. First...the water soluable stabilizer from Ann The Gran is absolutely awesome. I had some other water soluable and although it works ok, there...

If you are still seeking answers, I have a few to add to the ones above which, incidently, are excellent! First: Test sew out. Select a fabric similar to what you are working with. You can find these in your scraps, at a resale/charity shop or at your fabric store. You only need a small amount to do...
