  • What the Stabilizer Sellers Won't Tell You

With that title line, I am thinking that there are hundreds and hundreds of things they won't tell you, but I will zoom in on a few of my personal favorites, in no particular order: Those prices - unbelievably, are way overpriced. This one reminds me of cosmetics, if you figure out the real price...

  • My Top Three Mistakes That Make You Look Like a Newbie

If there is anything that all embroiderers have in common, it must be pride of workmanship. Not one of us wants to give or display something that does not look like it was made professionally. That is obvious – after all, how much have you invested financially, emotionally and artistically in your...

  • No More Excuses!

I am so delighted to say that I belong to a group of enthusiastic embroiderers who meet once every month to laugh, share and learn from each other. According to Oprah (and Goldie Hawn who was her guest that day), if you attend and participate in a monthly club/group with a common interest, your over...

  • Re: Once you understand embroidery rules - - Break Them!

I have that book as well, and I read it cover to cover and marked it all up and reread it as well. An informative book is like that, and John's book is really full of good information. Even if you don't digitize, understanding digitizing is important to your overall abilities. The other book...

  • Once you understand embroidery rules - - Break Them!

I was just doing some monogramming for a client and it occurred to me that the particular project I was working on breaks the embroidery rules. I do pashminas for weddings and they are a very well received product. Brides love them because they are not expensive and make really great gifts for their...

  • Re: BIG PROBLEM

  • Re: Puckering on Embroidered towel!

Yes, Classykitty, that is accurate. That is another way to handle your problem. I use this method if I have started my design and see a small amount of puckering starting to show up. I slip a piece about the size of the design under the hoop and that almost always fixes it. As Judy noted, there are multiple...

  • Re: Puckering on Embroidered towel!

Hi Classy, You are quite welcome! The rule of thumb I try to use is weight of the fabric with which you want to put the embroidery on. For instance a light weight cotton towel, I would use a no show mesh stabilizer along with Wss adhesive and a topping, sort of like an embroidery sandwich so to speak...

  • Re: why does everything "sink" into the fabric?

Deb-Give it a try, you may find it to be a good method for puckering issues. Of course you must have the hooped stabilizer that is the foundation for your design. But adding little 'meat' to the mix may assist you to have a better project. Others may have more ideas and I hope they add them here...
