  • Re: Scrapbooking designs

Hello Chelle; First and foremost, Welcome to the ATG( Ann The Gran) site! I did manage to find a few things in the free designs area under "sewing". There were some scissors, thread spools and a few other related items. As far as any others, just go through the different designers,go to necessities...

  • Re: Hooping and getting it straight

Hello Mustangmom; May I please ask a few questions here? 1. how are you stabilizing the t-shirt? 2. are you hooping it ( meaning are you actually locking it into the hoop)? I can help you out if you tell me exactly how you did the t-shirt. Yes, there is a "secret" to doing them, I will be glad...

  • The Avid Embroiderer Presents: Pashmina, October 3, 2008

Some words cause us to think Luxury, and Pashmina is one of them. Pashmina is the Indian/Persian word for cashmere and is derived from the Kashmir region of India. Wherever it comes from, it is soft, very expensive and always very chic. Photos courtesy of boutiquejewel. Pashmina comes from the Capra...

  • Re: heavy weight water soluble stabilizer

Joan is right on the mark! Badgemaster, which is a really heavy duty, commercial size water soluble stabilizer (wss) available here at ATG. If you read my Blog you will find that it is actually a very good value. On the 3D angels, I did have to use double wss but Badgemaster uses only on, there is savings...

  • Re: Embroidery on a light weight T-shirt Fabric

You may want to check my blog on Endless Hooping for some tips. AnnTheGran (ATG) will be carrying the bray you see in the photo shortly. I hope within the week. It is a simple but very useful tool for machine embroidery (ME). You will want to check Ann's Adhesive water soluble stabilizer which is...

  • Re: Outdoor garden flags

Interesting questions, hmmm..... You could read my blog on stabilizers. I would recommend an adhesive/water soluble type which ATG does carry. Flag nylon of this type can be slipery and a strong stabilizer is a must. Thread is another matter. If you have ever seen the birds in your area building nests...

  • Re: Hooping A Store Bought Tote Bag

Joan-Excellent points. As usual, this forum has turned into a great discussion of factors for any ME issue. Not all questions and answers are black and white. The totes that I did were only 15" wide and 18" deep. However, they were a soft denim that was easy to manipulate. The design was a...

  • Re: How do I eliminate thread loops?

I agree that towels can be a serious situation in ME. There are tons of ideas on what to do, and frankly, some are contradictory and some do/don't make sense. I suspect, and certainly could be wrong, that you have a tension issues. Loops are generally a tension issue. Loops sometimes look like a...

  • The Avid Embroiderer Presents: Needles, July 3, 2008

Needles General Information: The lower the number, the smaller the needle regardless of the type. Fine fabrics, satin, silk, linen, require the #60/8 Sharp or #65/9 Sharp. Either would be good choices. Those fabrics are snagged by a dull or overly large needle. To pierce heavy fabric like denim, use...
