  • Re: Getting Designs to match up

Interesting name - flying M creations! We all run into different issues from time to time. And this one is interesting. I think a photo of your problem would help to determine what the issue might be. If I understand you correctly, the design does not sew correctly and has gaps. Sweatshirts generally...

  • Getting Designs to match up

I think ATG is great ! And, I'm sure I'm not the only one with this question. There are some designs that I badly want to use. Here's what happens: I have stabilized BOTH sides of a sweatshirt and it's in a hoop. The design begins to sew and does fine. Then, in the middle it breaks and...

  • Re: ?? about embroidering

It is interesting that you sprayed water soluble stabilizer (wss). I would think that may have caused some deterioration of the stabilizer because fluid will cause it to dissolve. I suppose if you put catsup on wss, it would dissolve. I don't know if you would be able to see that deterioration because...

You may also want to review this post. I know that flannel and fleece are not the same, but they have similar components. It never hurts to see what others are doing. Pat, The Avid Embroiderer

Hi Alice-What a great avatar! You were probably caught (and I use that term lovingly) because of two different factors. The first is your stabilizer. While water soluble stabilizer (wss) is recommended for this project, you also need to consider a stabilizer like adhesive wss. It will hold your fabric...

Pattiann's information is good but it does have some limitations. For instance, it does not address the weight of the material which is a major consideration for stabilizers. Judy is correct, you need both an over the top and under the bottom stabilizers. Water soluble stabilizers (wss) are always...

  • Re: Stitch Density and Fabrics

My goodness,I just realized you had two types of fabric you are using here.Silly me !I would say again for the cotton, what are you using for stabilizer's? Cotton is a very light weight fabric,so dense stitches are likely to pucker it. I just thought of something else as well, did you re-size the design...

  • Re: Stitch Density and Fabrics

Well, I guess my first question ,is what are you using for stabilizers? Are you hooping it or are you going outside the hoop? If it were me I would use a sticky on the hoop, then an iron on,light tack tear away on the back of the sweatshirt. Then lay it on the sticky, and embroider it out side the hoop...

  • Re: Embroidering on Fleece

Gramochs - These are all very good responses for you. I have had some issues with different fabrics as well. I do a Blog here on Annthegran and on May 25, I will be presenting my information and research on stabilizers which is exactly your problem. Please do check it out and add your experience and...
