Hi Wendy, Yes, you need an ATA (PCMCIA) adapter card for the CF card. The CF card will need to be formatted in the 300e before you can put designs on it - how to do this is in the manual. 1Gb ia a very large card for the machine and may take awhile to read. I have 2 256Mb cards but only put the designs...
