  • Re: efw files

I have a reader/writer box, some people can do that with a program which works between the computer and embroidery machine. With that said, I pick my file type (mine is .sew) and it converts it. I don't know if you have a reader/writer capability. Does that help? But, that conversion isn't part of unzipping the file. I unzip the file, then when

  • Better explanation for downloading and unzipping free designs

extracting I just went through the process. 1. Download the file. 2. When it asks if you would like to open the file, click yes. a. A box will open, which also looks like the "search" results box I recommended to you before. 3. click on file & also click on your embroidery design name to highlight it. 4. choose "Extract all"

  • Re: Unzipping files in Vista

When my files download to my computer, they come up in a window that asks if I want to open them now- it doesn't call it unzip, and I can't think off-hand what they call it, but once I said yes, and it did unzip the file. Once I said no, and couldn't find the file- until I went back and downloaded more files and there it was! If you go to

  • Re: Digitizing odd shape help!

I figured it out (after 32 days of trying...) The file was too big. Once I made the image the proper size it digitized fine.

  • Digitize and Stitch error messages

When I had the trial version of D & S, it worked almost perfectly. Now that I have purchased it, I get two consistent error messages and cannot edit my design. I get a "Failed to update registry" Please try REGEDIT" message when I start the program up. When I click to edit the design, I get an error message "C:Program file/AmazingDesigns

Where are the directions on how to submit our embroidery designs to Free Designs? I knew where to find it on the old site...

  • Digitizing- Applique outline question

On Ann Cobb's applique patterns, the design sews as an outline stitch around the entire design before it sews the zig zag stitch. How can I get my appliques to do this? I thought the Applique button in Digitize and Stitch would do this, but it jumps all over my design. Is this a case of making sure you have a solid outline of the same thickness

  • Digitizing odd shape help!

I have tried to digitize a Radio flyer wagon with the handle tilted up several different ways, but each time, on the final step it fills in teh background black. I realize it is probably because the handle is up, but what can I do, short of filling in a background halo of blue? I would like the design to be just the wagon. Thanks!

  • Re: applique

As a customer, I have found that a lot of the applique designs start out by sewing an outline, then the next "color" is teh zig-zag. I use that outline to: 1. sew onto the applique fabric, 2. take it out and cut it out, along with the stitch witchery. 3. Then I re-hoop with the background color, sew teh outline again, 4. Remove the hoop, but

  • Re: Beginner - help needed, baby clothes etc

Can you get a smaller hoop? I work on baby clothes all the time on my 4x4 hoop and don't have much trouble getting the excess out of the way. An alternative besides the sticky stabilizer is to deconstruct the garment. I've done this to embroider a pocket, then sewn it back on. If you don't want to mess with ripping out seams and the outfit
