    As you found there can be a hugh difference in the price of lessons. There can be just as much difference in the quality of those lesson. Try ot check with others who have bought from a dealer to find out how satisfied they are. Few of us are lucky enough to win a machine so before you are tempted to buy on the internet find out what lessons will cost

    The fabric you choose to embroider will usually be determined more by its end use than by a brand name . I have used everything from hankerchif linen to silk to terry cloth to denim to cotton duck to felt to fleese to satin to vinyl. I find ANY fabric can be embroidered successfully when combined with the correct stablizer. I have worked on everything

    When in doubt I go back to what to what I was taught in 4-H 50 years ago. Disolve 1 c. salt per gallon of water cool, soak fabric for 30 minutes. Washing in cold water is also best for natural fabrics especially black. Man made fabrics that are vat dyed ( while still in a liquid state befor being formed into treads seldom fade, but man-mades should

    Like with any craft having the right "tool" not only makes the job eaisier but usually also produces a better end result. For this reason I use three different irons. A Rowenta ( not one of the more expensive models) steam iron for general use; a CNI mini iron for hard to get into places and sometimes 1/4 inch seams; and an old travel iron
