I have been retired for 2 years after teaching for 20 years, I taught Home Ec to middle school students. I have been using a machine since the time was 12. I also learned how to crochet from my grandmother and mother, a neighbor taught me how to knit. I am left handed and when we moved to Alaska my neighbor was lefthanded. We have lived all over the place and I always seemed to have hand crafts to do. My parents bought me my own sewing machine for my high school graduation in 1960, it costs them a lot back then. It had cam you put in it to make decorative stitches. I used it for 35 years, it was a white brand in a cabinet. I used the school sewing machines and the year I retired they gave my dept the a computer sewing machine and I got a taste of using computer sewing machine. My husband got me a ME for my 65th birthday and a laptop to go with it. We have learned many things with it in the last 10 months. We are learning about stabilizers everyday. We have 3 grown children, our eldes son lives with us, he is 46 and disabled due to health reasons. we have a daughter who lives in Orlando, with her hubby and a son and daughter. Our youner son lives in West Palm Beach with his wife (the best daughter-in-law ever) and a son and daughter. We move Hernando, FL 2 years ago and had our retirement house built. It is really too big but now is not the time to move or sell. we enjoyed the Community Circle conference Ann put on in Orlando and are looking forward to attending many more of them.
