About LaRue Jones

I have been sewing since my early teens, watching since I was little. I love it. I do nearly all types, but hate to do drapes and uphostery.  I do other types of handwork as well, but never got the hang of Tatting. I've just joined the ranks of machine embroiderers, mid May, 2008. Guess you could call it my new love. I live in Alabama, mid-eastern, but have lived in many places having been a Navy wife. I have two daughters and six grand children, 1 boy, 5 girls.

My husband is a woodworker who has made a number of things that really accent my quilting, such as quilt rack and a beautiful glass sided quilt chest.  It has been my pleasure to visit with everyone who follows LaRueSews-Quilts.  I hope to remain her as a blogger as long as possible.

I have been a Blogger on Ann the Gran since July, 2008.  I have enjoyed it and learned so much

Future blog plan
2:39 PM on July 8, 2009

Many of you have expressed an interest in a Block Of the Month.  I think this just might work out for us.  While I am researching ideas for our projects, let me ask all of you to begin searching for coordinating fabrics.  Fabric requirements will be posted later.  Don't buy fabrics until I tell you how much you will need to buy. Further plans are pending.

Misty Fuse
10:34 AM on December 6, 2008

Anyone who is interested in making a fused applique quilt, or trying out a really great fusing medium, please check out MISTY FUSE,featured this week on Ann the Gran home page.  This is the best medium I have found for fusing fabric to fabric.  It is so light when applied that you will not know it's there, unless you do the work yourself.  Give Misty Fuse a try!  I'll write more about it after Christmas.
