My mother who just turned 85 (a very young 85), flew out to VA from AL for a visit.  She has sewn for as long as she can remember, her mother had a treadle sewing machine that she learned on. Mom has an embroidery machine but it isn't like my Babylock Ellegante. Well, she fell in love with the machine and we had such fun making the Chickadee Tote Bag. The tote was made with prequilted fabric and lined with a beautiful pink cotton fabric that had flowers growing all over it. This picture just doesn't do it justice!!!  Marcella is my Moms name (AnnTheGran Alphabet Xpress) and we put that under the little Chickadees sitting on the branch with all the vines and flowers. We also made one of the Scrumptious Sweatshirts and we lined it!!! I got a great lesson from Mom on how to make my own bias tape, it really made the Sweat shirt jacket so very nice. We love the Chickadees so much that we embroidered 5 more on the other side with the caption "My little Chickadees" (they are just soooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!)

I moved from Phoenix to San Diego to be more close to my grandchildren. (OK, the heat too!) One thing I wanted out of my move was the everyday activities. I always came to SD for holidays and birthdays, but I really wanted to be here for the evenings of pizza and laughter. I wanted to be here for the 'every day' days. Those have wonderful stories too.
