    Re: Anyone Out There?

Hi clem - Yes, I'm on the mend, I think.  I'm on two antibiotics that don't make me feel too good, but I hope they do the trick.

I've been busy with sewing and embroidery also.  I have several sewing and embroidery orders to get out.  I didn't get much donw in the last couple of weeks what with my emb machine down and then getting sick.  So now I'm busy, and behind with my own projects for Christmas.  Oh, well!  What doesn't get done will just be late gifts - or I'll have some ready for next year!

We're gathering with Family and friends and I always love getting us all together.  We aren't having to leave town, which I'm glad for.  I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.  We can touch base again when things slow down a bit!!

    Are you ready for Christmas?

I've been busy in my sewing room lately.  I seem to lose track of time - and days - when I'm busy sewing and embroidering.  With Christmas just around the corner I've been working on my own Christmas gifts, as well as getting out orders as fast as I can.  Business is brisk, which is good, but sometimes work gets in the way of my play!!

I've been embroidering sweatshirts and t-shirts for family, and also for myself.  I'm trying to finish a quilt for my granddaughter.  I've made several aprons.  I have a coat cut out, for myself and also for my granddaughter, which is waiting to get embroidered and then sewn up.  Then there is that beautiful skirt fabric waiting for me to do something with!  I have a bunch of free-standing lace (FSL) bookmarks to make, as well as some in-the-hoop key chains.  I also have about 25 FSL ornaments to make.  I also have two clocks to embroider for my kids.  And orders keep coming in as well!  I will be spending many nights sewing to get all this done.  It's a good thing I'm retired!!

I hope everyone is happily busy as well!  I'd love to hear about some of the projects you all are working on!

I'll check in here once in awhile, but I don't expect much action here until after the Christmas rush!!  Maybe then we can catch up, share our projects, and who knows ...?  Then there is Expo coming!!

Wishing you all happy, productive days ahead - Pat

Re: Are you ready for Christmas?

Nice to meet you Sylvia!  I live in Redmond.  We are quite snowed in right now as we live off the main road quite a bit, and on a hill as well.  It's pretty - but hard to go out in.  As I write this my machine is stitching away!  I'm making dozens of FSL Christmas ornaments as little gifts for friends and family.  My machine was "sick" last week, so now I'm behind!  I guess there are others out there not quite ready for Christmas either!  Have a Merry Christmas, regardless if everything gets done or not!

Re: Are you ready for Christmas?

Nice to meet you too.  :-)

Yah you guys really got it over there !  The weather has been so strange the last few years--seems like you guys get more snow than we do now on the average.  It just goes around us but not tonight.

We live off the main road too and out in the country but not on a hill.  (thank goodness !  Wink

Glad your machine is better now.  Hard to have them "sick".

I'm behind but only because everything else had to be done first so today I spent the entire day sewing and got a lot done. It was fun. I miss it when I don't get a chance to do it.

Well, you have a Merry Christmas too.  Gift

Re: Are you ready for Christmas?

Hi Big Smile Nice to meet you

Yes, I have not checked in for a while, like everyone else, getting ready for Christmas. No matter what I tell myself each year to start early, I am still behind.

We have lots and lots of snow also. We live off the beaten path too and the plows never, ever make it here to clear the roads. A good thing I have a great car and a wonderful husband that is a great driver that does not mind taking me places I need to go. He will be picking up our friends and family that we have invited over for Christmas dinner. Every year I try to invite others that have no family to celebrate the holiday with and therefor make Chrsistmas really come alive for them. After all, the reason for the season is Christ and he would want me to do this.

Have a great Christmas    and like all the others will be checking in more after the mad rush.  Confused

Re: Are you ready for Christmas?

We are totally snowed in here.  We tried to get out today, but the snow is just too deep.  We left our Subaru at the bottom of our hill, but it got snowed in as well.  It's over the wheels, so we can't even try to drive it out!  We haven't been out for over a week!  I am getting a lot of sewing done!  We cancelled our family gathering and will try again when the snow melts.  We have plenty of food and wood.  We ran out of dog food, but I made up some great food with rice, chicken broth, nuts, brewers yeast, veggies, oil, etc.  He loves it.  I may just keep on making it for him!

I miss my kids and granddaughter, but they are safe at their own homes as well.  Like my daughter said, Christmas will just last longer.  It really will be "the twelve days of Christmas"!

So- we're having a quiet, white Christmas.  It is beautiful!  And we're home and safe, and relatively warm!

Merry Christmas to all of you out there.  -Pat

    Is it almost Spring?

I am ready for Spring to come - as we are getting snow again today!  Did everyone enjoy Expo?  I sure did!  Now I want to get all my winter projects completed and start on ones for Spring and Summer.  It's time to make some summer t-shirts and caps!

I plan on making some shopping bags to carry to the market.  I have all the usual store issued ones, but would like some of my own, some that are more personal!  Besides, it's another thing to embroider!!  And it's time to make my Granddaughter's Easter dress.  That is always a pleasant task.  I love to take her to the fabric store to pick out her pattern and fabric.  Then we come home and she picks out an embroidery design for it.  It makes it personal for her and we have such fun!

What projects are you working on out there?  Anything new and exciting to inspire the rest of us?  Let us know what you're up to!

So - happy almost Spring and happy stitching to all of you - Pat

    Re: Is it almost Spring?

Welcome to the wondeful world of embroidery JJ!  I'm glad you enjoyed Expo.  It sure gets me motivated to start new projects.  I am trying to finish up my unfinished ones before I start too many new ones!  But there is always something new I'm starting as well.

I have a Sunbonnet Sue quilt that my mom made when she was expecting me.  It's all hand done, and I love it!  I would like to make one for my granddaughter.  I did make her one that has embroidered butterflies on it.  She loves it - it is her cuddle quilt and is on her bed.

This weekend was the quilt show in Monroe at the Fairgrounds.  What beautiful quilts!  Some of them would take me several lifetimes to complete!  We have some real talent in the NW.  And of course there are more things I want to try now.  I love combining embroidery and quilting.  There were several nice redwork and blackwork quilts to see,  That is one thing I want to make next, or at least soon!

It's been rather quiet here at our group site - I hope it's because everyone is so busy with their sewing and embroidery!  The Spring daffodils and crocus are starting to show their heads, so I think spring is really here, finally.  We can all come out of hibernation now!

I love hearing about what others are doing.  It's fun to know we have so many creative and talented people around us.  I get inspired every time someone tells about their latest project.

    HAPPY SRING everyone! - Pat
