  • Did you ever go - Duh!!??!!

Well, I just did. I plan my work, at least that is what I try to do, and attempt to think ahead. I had an order for Susan Mars' lovely napkins . They are 21" by 21" and absolutely beautiful, so chic for a holiday dinner. I was making the design for the 6 that were ordered and was using...

  • Re: AnnTheGran Stabilizer

deb-being unlucky with sticky stabilizers and/or adhesives can be challenging. I can imagine the frustration. One thing that I have suspected for some time is that the various parts for ME may just be affected by humidity. I feel like sticky stabilizer just might be one of them. When I get some debris...
  • Re: why does everything "sink" into the fabric?

Shawn - You have a really great machine and I hope you will keep working toward the results you desire. I was at a class on Monday with a embroidery machine master technician who owns two embroidery shops here in San Diego. Mike has over 30 years of sewing/embroidery machine workings, repair and products...

Hi, Shawn. Do a few samples on terry or fleece using a topper of WSS. I think you will see a big difference. Pattiann PS: Here is a great tutorial - http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/elprojects/holder.aspx?page=PR1256

  • Re: AnnTheGran Stabilizer

You must have gotten a better needle than I did, it doesn't change the fact that for me it still gummed up pretty badly. It may be their claim to fame as you say, and to each their own, as with all aspects of sewing and embroidery, but for me it is an added expense that is not necessary. I can obtain...
  • Re: Badgemaster

There's a tip I want to remember, don't put wss above the dog or cat's water bowl! So noted. I always think that when I cannot find something, and eventually it is located under something larger, remember Pat, do not cover up things with bigger things.....Duh! That is one for the scissors...

  • Badgemaster

Most of you know that I am a fan of Badgemaster Stabilizer. My blog on it describes everything I liked about it and I still have not found any drawbacks to it. The other day I was picking through my scraps of stabilizers for a piece to float under a design. All the Badgemaster scraps were soft and pliable...

  • Re: heavy weight water soluble stabilizer

Joan is right on the mark! Badgemaster, which is a really heavy duty, commercial size water soluble stabilizer (wss) available here at ATG. If you read my Blog you will find that it is actually a very good value. On the 3D angels, I did have to use double wss but Badgemaster uses only on, there is savings...

  • Re: Embroidery on a light weight T-shirt Fabric

So true, we don't ! I just know what works well. I won't recommend something that is not a quality product, as I too have bought inferior product that just does not do what they claim. These do! We are sewers just like you that have been "down the road" so to speak. (Gee, I just realized...

  • Re: Embroidery on a light weight T-shirt Fabric

Hi Maurileo, So far I have had the best luck with this method for light weight t--shirts Hoop a sheet of Ann's water Soluble with Adhesive , carefully lay the area you want to embroider on,be careful not to pull or stretch the fabric any more than necessary, just lay it on there, carefully smooth...
