So true, we don't ! I just know what works well. I won't recommend something that is not a quality product, as I too have bought inferior product that just does not do what they claim. These do! We are sewers just like you that have been "down the road" so to speak. (Gee, I just realized...

You may want to check my blog on Endless Hooping for some tips. AnnTheGran (ATG) will be carrying the bray you see in the photo shortly. I hope within the week. It is a simple but very useful tool for machine embroidery (ME). You will want to check Ann's Adhesive water soluble stabilizer which is...

One trick you could use is the Badgemaster Stabilizer, that would hold up well for this project. When I did mine I used a layer of fabric, stabilizer, a layer of Tulle, then another layer of fabric, then Ann's Water Soluble on top or all of it. I used Ann's Heavy Cut Away Stabilizer for the inside...

Margie, I just looked at the towels you are doing and they look like the same type of fabric that I am using right now,it is very thin cotton. this is only a suggestion, you might try using a basting stitch before you start your design to hold everything in place while the design is stitching out. When...

That appears to be a very dense design. In digitizing for ME, there is something called a "pull effect." I don't digitize, but I believe, essentially, the original design, and its density, can cause 'pull' of the fabric. Density will pull the fabric 'inwardly' causing the...

Another method would be to use a "heat-away" clear film. ATG has one that works very well: Heat-Away This does remove easily with a 'dry' iron - do not use the steam setting. I hope you get a chance to check out my blog for more ideas. Pat

Hey BB, I think it should contain a small sampling of one of each kind, maybe with a brief description of what types of things it will work best with. Especially for the new ME'ers out there that are confused about them, and what they will work best with. And even some of us older ME'ers who are...

Hey, you guys!! Rita Moreno fans and those of us who watched Electric Company will recognize that subject line! I enjoyed that show and wonder where it went to? Well, on to my problem. Yes, The Avid Embroiderer has a problem. I have a polyester and cotton apron for sale on my website and have sold several...

HH Linda, Thanks for your input. : ) I'd planned to use 'lace' designs on the light weight vinyl, so that should take care of the density issue. I was wondering about the stabilizer to use. Pat covered a lot on stabilizers but I think I missed vinyl. I was hoping to make 'pictures'...

Along with lots of stabilizer, when I embroider squares for quilts, I heavily starch them and make sure I outline the design area. I also with very dense designs try to, as much as is possible, stitch the inside colors first. Linda
