  • Re: Embroidering on a canvas bag

I have found I need a good sharp new needle when I embroider my canvas bags and change them every time on a large design like my Colt Classic and Camelia Carlton Chandelier one just so I get the most clean stitches. I came up with these tote bags to sort out my life and my car! http://elaundry.blogspot...

  • Re: Stabilizer

You are so welcome. That is what is great about AnnTheGran, people want to help! I wanted to add one more (among the many) thing. I live in southern California. The humidity here is usually in the 20% range, but today, it is raining, therefore, it is over 30%. While that may not seem like much, water...

  • Re: Stabilizer

Kathy is quite right. However, we need more information for this project. What is it doing? If it is puckering, that indeed is most likely a stabilizer. Did you do a discovery sew? (Test sew out?) Using a similar fabric, I would use a heavier cutaway stabilizer. Cutaway is standard for lettering (as...

  • Re: Metallic Thread

Thank you so much for all the info. I was hoping I wouldn't have to use a different needle for the metallic since I would have to change it at the end of every logo stitch-out. Also, I thought about this after I put on forum, will metallic sew on polyester warm-up jackets as well as regular thread...

  • Metallic Thread

I am doing a design that will have two lines in poly Maderia and a Irish rope design in matallic - probably Maderia, also. Is it necessary to switch needles for the matallic thread? Also, after spending serveral hours trying to find multi-colored thread in red and silver, I have given up. Does anyone...

  • Re: Needle Breaking

Before you go to a technician you might try checking your upper threading. The tension may be too tight. Embroidery needles sometimes have more flexibility than standard needles. If the thread is tight it will bend the needle enough strike the plate. I saw a tension test here in a blog. It is http:/...

  • Re: Water soluble topper. Problems with the use thereof.

First of all, anything that is as light weight as Saran Wrap is too light weight. I do recommend that you use something heavier. Scraps can be used for topping because it does not need to be in the hoop itself. The water soluble stabilizer (if it is the paper type rather than the plastic type) is used...

  • Re: Bobbin Thread Weight

I didn't know I had any replies to my post. I was waiting for an email. Maybe I better check back more often. I know what you mean about leaving room for the colors, because I would see an empty space and say what is going on, I have learned not to panic. Because when it is done it looks great. The...

  • Re: Top and Bobbin Thread not connecting

I agree with Pattiann, you need to have a technician look at your machine. If you look at the Needle Blog you can see the movement of the needle to the bobbin. In your case, it is not completing that process. While I did not have the same problem, I did have some problems with my bobbins and thought...
