  • Re: How to combine individual fonts to form a name

I did the exact same thing 10+ years ago as a newbie. Congrats on that machine, it is a great machine and will be a work horse for you for a long time. (As a side note, embroiderers tend to keep their embroidery machines rather than trade or sell them.) I traded mine and eventually bought a new one because...

  • Re: Embroidering an Arch

If I understand your question, you are trying to manipulate a shape into something else. To my knowledge, that is not really a good idea. You couldd make an "O" from an arc, but that would be about it. If you are relatively new to embroidery, you need to read, read, and then read. There is...

  • Re: Alphabet with high letters not more than 5 mm (0.20 inches)

This is a difficult request because that small of a font is a challenge. The only place I am aware of that is in Ken Parson's Compositions . It is among the lettering available in this software which does a lot more than lettering. It costs $135 or $165 if you don't belong to Ann's Club ...

  • Lettering, Fonts, Monograms and all that jazz!

I received this email request recently, but since it is a universal question, I felt that posting it here is a good idea for everyone to read. Pat , I have a brother PE-770 and need some help. I have downloaded sever fonts but I can't figure out for the life of me how to get them into my machine...

  • PE770 - Newbie!

I just got this little beaut! Got some stabilizer, some scrap material, some thread and ready to roll. Oh wait...I can't for the life of me figure out how to reduce the font size. Got the rotation down pat (just didn't really want that). I have one grand-daughter with a nice short name; Ava,...

  • Re: Letter stitching problems

WOW! You really are pressed on this one! With time as an issue, I would recommend that you try using the alphabet on your machine. I am assuming that there is one because I am unaware of any that do not have a built in lettering system. (I have no knowledge of the professional machines, drat. . . ) I...

  • Re: Stabilizer

Kathy is quite right. However, we need more information for this project. What is it doing? If it is puckering, that indeed is most likely a stabilizer. Did you do a discovery sew? (Test sew out?) Using a similar fabric, I would use a heavier cutaway stabilizer. Cutaway is standard for lettering (as...

  • Re: Tracing design without sewing

You might consider using the 'frames' group Brother has already built into your machine. Place your fabric and the place where you will be entering the letter, and use the 'square frame' with a single line. Enter your letter into the machine as if you were ready to sew. Place the square...

  • Re: PE700 Instructions Area

Does anyone know if it is important to change the thread type, in order to have a better looking sew-out? Also, has anyone had to change the top thread tension in order to have a neater looking design? I am using Personalize 'N Stitch and designed an "arched" design. The letters in the...

  • Re: PE700 Question and Answer Area

Fonts have many facets!!! That being said, try this next time if you are using the fonts from the machine - select your lettering. I recommend that you try using the smallest lettering because it can be adjusted upward later in the process while still in the lettering, select the icon on the right with...
