  • Re: How can I embroider on shirts, tanks, bloomers and a-line dresses

How well I remember being where you are! There is a great deal to learn, and you are biting off just a little more than most newbies usually do. May I suggest that you do some reading? Your manual for your machine, assuming that you have one, is for the machine and not for embroidery. My first three...

  • Complete newbie needs help on how to hoop shirts, tanks, a-line dresses and other 2 sided items on Brother PE770

Hi, I was recently given a BrotherPE770 as a gift and have the basics down, but I really need step by stp instructions on the easiest way to use this machine to embroider and applique on shirts etc. without sewing it together! I know there is a way to do it and move the back of the item out of the way...

  • NEED HELP!!

I am having trouble lining up the letters that I have downloaded from AnntheGran website. How do I line up letters to get them even on a sweatshirt. Such as Grandma. My hoop is only 4x4, and I know I will have to rehoop a couple of times. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank You!! Email to:...

  • Re: large hoop

Some of these designs have a link in them called "download" which will give you all the information you need. In my thinking, 5" x 7" is the large hoop, but that is just me. While I was looking at the bird houses, I found this really lovely crossstitch for birds: http://www.annthegran...

  • Re: no sewing data

Pattiann is right, this is exactly what the problem is. You can test it by changing the size of your hoop (that won't help you with taking it to your machine, it still won't work) and requesting those designs. If the photo shows up, that is what the problem is. Check into the Download Designs...

  • Re: A lot of newcomers

Great information, thanks Marge! What an interesting way to decide on stabilizers. I never thought of it that way, but certainly, the number of stitches does enter into the equation. So, all you newbies, read all the great information in the Forums and Blogs here at ATG and you will find yourself being...

  • Re: Fleece Embroidery

Allow me to add that you will want to place a piece of water soluble stabilizer, generally light to medium weight, on top of the fleece. Your stitches will not 'sink' into the fabric. You have other options if you are not comfortable with glue. I am not a glue fan either. I use a water soluble...

  • Re: Help with Masterworks 2 digitizing software

Yes, and the Babylock site has free trials of the software that your mother can order. You open the jpeg file in Works and the software will digitize. Clip art is the easiest to do. Read up on digitizing before uploading the cd - you will be limited to 30 days use. MWLite may be a little less expensive...

  • Re: Puckering on Embroidered towel!

To hoop or not to hoop, that is the question!! Did you get a chance to read my Hoop Blog ? The books are right, hoop when possible. I have gotten out of the habit of hooping. When I don't hoop, I use the 'frames' which are on most machines. I encircle my design with a simple square or circle...

  • Re: How do you stop hoop marks?

You don't mention if you have washed the garment yet, but I think that a good washing should take care of the issue. I might even put a little extra fabric softener in the wash because softeners 'relax' the fabric. I might 'touch it' up with an iron as well. In the future, I agree...
