Digitizing FSL is a challenge for any digitizer. The underlay must be just so and a single mm of inaccuracy makes it a mess of strings. I don't digitize, but I do watch how any design is laid out. My The Computerist blog for this week discusses a way to review a design for just that sort of thing...

I know that many of the readership here at AnnTheGran swear by Embird. However, I have problems with it. If my pc is acting up, I sometimes have to uninstall Embird. When I reinstall, I have problems with the "Iconizer." I am sorry to 'hijack' this thread, but if any one else has a...

In deed, I did say to 'glue' the Badgemaster. Another thing about that 'seam,' is that the 'top' seam should be the top portion placed into the hoop. Reason: My embroidery foot managed to catch just enough of the 'open' side of the seam to ruin my project. You have one...

Mary Anne - Sometimes, even after being checked by the best repairperson in the universe, we still have problems. The design shown, with the outline out of alignment is actually a stabilizer problem. That may sound odd to you, but do try your design with an extra sheet of stabilizer. For the denim, I...

Hi Mo! - right back at you!!! You might want to try doing a free standing lace (FSL) design and glue it to your surface. If you read my FSL blog you will see that I found a great fabric glue, and it will be a help for your problem. Also, if you want to do a monogram, I recommend that you do the monogram...

I have noticed that some designers do include suggestions for material, needle, thread and stabilizers. Items with those suggestions have been digitized with those 'ingredients' in mind. My thinking on this is it is difficult to duplicate the exact formula recommend, especially the material....
