  • Re: Water soluble topper. Problems with the use thereof.

First of all, anything that is as light weight as Saran Wrap is too light weight. I do recommend that you use something heavier. Scraps can be used for topping because it does not need to be in the hoop itself. The water soluble stabilizer (if it is the paper type rather than the plastic type) is used...

  • Re: Minkee with satiny backing

Minky is one beautiful fabric for a baby's project. But, it is slippery and difficult to work with. So, I recommend that you use Ann's (excellent) Adhesive Water Soluble Stabilizer. You need the adhesion for that fabric and Ann's is the very best on the market and, if you are a member of...

  • Re: outling not matching up with stitched design

Pattiann is right, the cause of this problem is some sort of issue with the stabilizer. I like to use the adhesive types of stabilizers rather than a spray on because of simplicity and lack of a mess with the adhesive. You might like to try the one here at ATG it is great! If the area is not too large...

  • Re: Material comming out of hoop

Hi Mew, Well not sure if I would use Water soluble stabilizer on a sweatshirt, at least not on the backing, I would use some Soft Stabilizer, then when you have the design done, put a piece of iron on interfacing over the stitches to aide in not having a scratchy feel when wearing. Wow, Marge is correct...

  • Re: Getting Designs to match up

Interesting name - flying M creations! We all run into different issues from time to time. And this one is interesting. I think a photo of your problem would help to determine what the issue might be. If I understand you correctly, the design does not sew correctly and has gaps. Sweatshirts generally...

THANK YOU JOAN! , Re: Snowflake Designs I wondered how long it would take someone to respond to this idea! I still and ALWAYS have rinsed this in the sink, and washing machine. I was around when disposable diapers were just being instituted and coming into fruition, that was the BIG CLAIM, is that is...

  • Re: Embroidery on a light weight T-shirt Fabric

So true, we don't ! I just know what works well. I won't recommend something that is not a quality product, as I too have bought inferior product that just does not do what they claim. These do! We are sewers just like you that have been "down the road" so to speak. (Gee, I just realized...

Judy and I sound like a walking ad for ATG adhesive water soluble stabilizer ! We don't get a commission, I promise! That stabilizer is head and shoulders above all the rest in that category. You can use whatever you like, but the fact is taking someone's advise is usually better than trying...
