    Hooping

I read a tip on embroidering on towels in which the person said they did not hoop towels.  I am new to ME.  Please explain how that works.

    Re: Hooping

Hello.  Click on the BLOG tab on top of page and scroll down.  There is a Blog entitled, "Hooping and Un-Hooping".  It goes over the steps for each scenario.

Simply, the stabilizer gets hooped and your project sits on top of the stabilizer, but not in the hoop.  The item stays in place by a light spray of 505 Temporary Adhesive (washes out) or adhesive stabilizer.  I have even pinned (straight pins) the item down to the stabilizer far enough away from the needle action.

Some fabrics are extremely heavy to hoop; terry cloth, fleece.  Some fabrics leave the hoop crease and spoils the finished project (faux leather comes to mind).  Some items are difficult to hoop because of their particular shape.  Once you get the hang of it, you may find yourself using un-hoop method more and more.

Have fun with your new hobby!

    Re: Hooping

Hi, I am also really new to ME but I have just started using a sticky backing which you hoop then score round, peel off and then put whatever you want onto it without hooping and it is amazing! Firstly it is such a quick method for small embroideries, secondly it holds tapes and ribbons, and you can reposition so easily !

The type I am using is a tear away type....... please does anyone know if there is a wash away type.

Once thing I would like to say to anyone reading this is being new to ME I have learnt a really valuable thing........don't rush.....ME is an art and should be treated as so.....I ruined a number of things to begin with simply by trying to take short cuts......I now know that perfect results are easily obtainable but only if you take your time and do things properly........all new machines should come with a free gift........PATIENCE !

Hello!  Please do check out my Hooping/Hoopless Blog.  I hope you will enjoy and get lots of info from it.  Don't forget to do a "test sewout" because that will show issues before you do your project, that is a real money saver.

There is so much to learn about ME.  After 7 years,  I learn new things all the time.
