    Perfect Placement Towel Kit

I ordered some hand towels to use with this new software, and I have a question (or 10!).  The towels come "compressed" for shipping, and instructions say they should be washed and dried to "fluff" them.  Question is whether to wash and dry them before doing the machine embroidery?  If the answer to that is yes, will the use or non use of fabric softener affect the outcome of the embroidery?  Should the stabilizer I use vary with the thickness of the towel?  If yes, please explain.  I'll let y'all know how they come out.

     Thanks

    Rita

    Hi, Rita,

It is a good idea to wash towels before embroidery.  Since towels are made of cotton, they can shrink; some substantially. We do not believe the use of fabric softener will in any way effect the embroidery.  A low tack iron on tear-away stabilizer will work for any thickness of towel.  And a water soluble topping is always advised when dealing with a loft fabric.  The thickness of the towel is really not of concern.

Good luck with your new "toy"! Let us know if you have any other questions.
