Hi all, this is my first post here :D but I have a question, I am sure only you can answer!

I found a website with lots of lovely Heelo Kity designs and she has a coment like this :

She does not own the designs.

Copyrighted designs cannot be copied or stitched out and sold without the owner's approval (Hello Kitty belongs to the Sanrio Company). 

If you see a licensed design for sale by anyone other that the one who holds the copyright, or a vendor who has a sales contract with Sanrio or Disney, it is a bootlegged design. 

You will find these bootleg designs are usually posted by someone outside the US.

Thanks for that but I understand the copyright as design baby clothes but I can't see if this person has copyright to produce all these characters etc. Can you have a look and see what you think? http://embroiderydesignsbygina.com/downloads.aspx

The information provided on the site is a little fuzzy - if she's taking credit for creating the designs, they are illegal.

Is the agreement for her site or an agreement between the customer and vendors she represents????

I would want more information before I purchased these designs.

Thanks! to me it looks as if the contract is between vendor and customer, and she doesn't say she has a license in selling then nor like you say creating them. Even in a case of creating them, you shoudl need permission from the relevant companies...

I already paid $56 for Hello Kitty ones :( and she deens't answer my emails so I don't think she is planning to either if she is illegally selling them! Stupid me for not thinking of this before I bought!
