Can anyone tell me a quick way to decide what size to make a name or any word for that matter when machine embroidering. Like right now I am making a tree skirt for my niece and she wants their names on it. There are three people in her family so I thought that I would put the names on the center three panels about 1 inch from the bottom. My largest frame is a 5 x 7.

I've been doing the same thing, If you have alphabet express and work it into a hoop, it'll let you know if it will fit or not. Takes a little while to get the hang of' but, I did family names on 2 lines inside the 5 x7 hoop.
