    alphabet that looks like printing

I am new. I got a brother embro. machine for mothers day.  I think I have already done about everything that it can do, it was purchased at wal mart. Nice starter I think, my question is. I need an alphabet that looks like printing, I think that is what I am wanting to say.  I do lettering around the boarder of baby blankets and the stitching that came on the machine isn't quite what I am wanting. Do any of you have any suggestions?  thank you so much in advance.Big Smile

Welcome to the world of embroidery!  When you mentioned that you believed you did all you can do on the embroidery machine thus far, I am assuming that you did not purchase the PED Basic Design card reader package?

The PED Design package plugs into your computer and brings over designs from machine embroidery websites (purchased or free).  This would include many, many alphabets!  Then, with the card provided within the reader package, you can bring the designs over to the card and then the card fits into the slot of your machine.  Therefore, no longer limiting you just  to the designs and lettering on your machine itself.

In order to find an alphabet to suit your needs, do a search on your computer (say, Machine Embroidery Alphabet).  Ann The Gran site has many alphabets to choose from - including a neat Kid's Handwriting.  However, you do need the PED Basic Design in order to bring any design or alphabet over to your machine.

Hope this helped.  Have fun...it is a neat hobby; although not inexpensive Smile

beckeagle89- (Cool name) - Joan is so right, the world of machine embroidery (ME) is growing and changing everyday.  What kind of machine did you get?  You are a lucky woman for someone to give you such a fun new hobby machine.

One thing you need to know about lettering is that - this is in my blog has a statement about Alphabetic and Monogram lettering.

In almost every 'Alpha' design pack, you might need to put together each word, one letter at a time.  This is not a pretty sight!!

AlphaExpress, here at ATG, will make short work of that!

Please send a photo of what you have done, we all love to see projects from our fellow ME artists.  To insert a photo, Reply to or start a thread, select the Media Icon (between the tree and smiley face) and upload from there, following the prompts.

ps:  I have a new blog that will be posted around Friday the 18th or Saturday the 19th concerning endless hooping which is what you would have used for placing those words around the border.

I hope you'll visit The Avid Embroiderer my blog for some tips and tricks from someone who enjoys sharing her discoveries.  Considering selling your embroidery?  Check here first!  My spreadsheet is just what you need!

Thank you so much for giving me information. I as a newby really appreciate it.  I have a PED-Basic. and I downloaded the alphexpress trial and I think that I am in love....LOL.  I have one problem though, I make a design for my hoop size, which is unfortunately only 4X4 and it won't show up.  I do not know if I am compatiable with it. My ME is a Brothers 350.

    Thank you sooo much
