    Embroidering on Rugs?

Just curious if anyone out there has ever tried to embroider something on a rug? Big Smile It has a non skid backing on it. I am so tempted to try it on an old rug to see if I can do it,LOL. I love a challenge !Big Smile

I dunno Judy, I would think the non-skid back would be slightly heavy; actually with the backing and the rug, it might be a tad cumbersome.  I don't know how the needle would react to the backing "fabric" eitherl.

Maybe embroidering a border and/or creating an embroidered binding and then sewing those on.  I would trust a sewing machine with the backing before I would trust my embroidery machine.  Just me.

Yes I see what you mean,I am not sure I want to try it either.I would hate to have to take my machine into the shop again.I guess I was wondering if it could be done, and if anyone had ever tried it before.

    Thanks
