    Problem with ORIGINS design software.

I have ORIGINS design software and while it works generally quite well, recently a problem has cropped up that is driving me nuts. When I'm working on a design I wil suddenly get an error from windows that says "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtime Error  Program C:\Origins\Origins.exe  R-6034 The application .... and it goes on to say to contact the program's manufacturer. You can click on the OK button but the message comes right back.  Keep clicking and after about 10 clicks it eventually goes away.  Later when you try to do some windows related thing (File save, save as, etc. ) it may ome back again.

The SoftFoundry has gone out of business so there is no one to contact.

I kind of doubt that the program is at fault because the last upgrade 10159 was released in 2005 or 06 and the program ran just fine for several years until one day about 6 months ago that this began.

Has anyone seen this problem?  Any ideas about solutions?

Hello songsofjoy, That kind of behavior with the program makes me think it may be related to your OS. Which Operating System are you using? Windows XP? Vista?  Since the company who designed the software went out of business they may not have enough updates to function properly with the OS you are using.   I have had similar problems but with other software, Vista is what I am using and there are alot of kinks to work out of it.  Even if you have XP the updates to it may make it not work smoothly with your Origins.  It is aggravating to get to a certain point in a design and have it act up.  Keep saving your work to a file periodically in the event that it closes so you won't lose your work.

Bon Voyage into the land of Machine Embroidery!!  Alssweetheart
