Hello.
First off, do you still have your manual for the Innov-is 4000D? The Brother Manuals are very user-friendly. If you follow along with the manual, I don't think you will have a problem at all. Also, if you no longer have the manual, go to the Brother website and call up your machine type and you can probably download a copy right from the site.
Not sure what you are asking. I am reading that you LOST your actual CD from Version 6 or that you cannot locate the download on your new computer? If you had installed Version 6 previously and moved your files over successfully, Version 6 is probably still on your hard drive. If your previous computer had XP and you are now in Vista, that may be the problem.
Hooping system? I utilize the Brother hoops. 99.9% of the time, I work hoopless; in other words, I hoop the stabililzer and lay my item on top of that but not within the hoop. For myself, it works much better. Personal choice. You have to do what you feel most comfortable in doing.
Not sure, but you may try YouTube.com also for any viewing of embroidery machines and techniques of embroidery. I know the new Brother Quattro 6000D is up on YouTube. I viewed a video for the 4000D way back prior to purchasing. I bet that is still out there. Might check on that.....that way, you may not feel so intimiated. It really is an easy machine to operate.
