My mother had geraniums, I have geraniums, and I suspect that my daughter will have them someday too.
I think of them as the traditional flower that never fails - I have seen them grow everywhere, even in Arizona!
I have never seen this. . . My plant is about 6 years old and quite root bound. I keep thinking I will repot it, but it actually seems happy as is. Then, about 10 days ago, something awesome happened. One branch was really heavy and and was drooping downward.
The flower that was about to bud was actually hanging straight down - - - yes, straight down. The result is . . .

a perfect ball! Here it is at a different angle:

You can see that the blue pot is on the left in the first photo and on the right in the second. It is 3.5" in diameter and totally symmetrical.
Just had to show it off!!
