    Judy,

Kitty Pills:  wrap pill in a slice of boiled ham or thin American cheese.  Also, there are now kitty and doggie "pill pockets".  They are made from a treat ingredient and the pills are deposited inside - kinda like a pet "wrap".  I know peanut butter works for my dogs.  Pill gone in a heartbeat!  Scoffed.

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Boy, I can't keep up with you guys.. you've gone on 2 pages since I logged off yesterday.. LOL

Vicksburg ... is that where you are from Judy??  So are my friends, they live in Plainwell now but that was stomping grounds for them.  Hmm  Oh I love the towel usage... I still hope you are going to bring it for show and tell...   You guys are just so real!!!

And Kath, Traverse City, my grandmother lived there as a young girl, before moving south to the Flint area.  Boy are we going to have fun talking,, I so miss Meijers and Menards too.  Even though Meijers didn't have fabric it had everything else in ONE stop.  They had just built a new Wal Marts in Greenville (home of Meijers) a year before I left, only thing it did to Meijers business was make them more competitive. I shopped both places only because the closest place for fabric WAS Wal Marts.  I had to drive to GR or Mt Pleasant for affordable stuff.  One quilt shop priced their fabric right out of my budget.

So many ideas NOT ENOUGH TIME... !!!!

I'm down one in my car for coming so if there is anyone else in the East Ocala area wanting to ride along or if you want to meet coming from Citra Dunnellon, I'd be happy to meet somewhere and pick you up.  Just be prepared to SHOP SHOP SHOP.  Don't worry, I'm slow paced so it will be shop shop shop.. lol

OH and feed my cats pills, I'm sorry, it's back to the towel and pry job.. they hate to even be held against their will doing Advantage drops.. lol

Use to have a dog that had to be given an aspirin a day and she could find it in a hot dog or cheese, gone was the treat but out popped the aspirin. She loved treats especially marshmallows so thought, hmmm stuffed the aspirin in a MINI marshmallow, lined a bunch of them up on the floor with the baited one in the middle of the row.  They were gone so fast she didn't know what hit her.  Just an idea people.  It only takes a 1/2 dozen or so and they are tiny.. LOL

OK, i'm off to sew I'll be lucky if I get 2 projects done to bring .. unless you want to see OLD stuff.. HA

    Lynn,

What was your grandmother's name? My grandmother was a doctor there and knew everyone. She passed during the hurricane of 1992 and I miss her so very much. My uncles owned half of Front street in TC and my one uncle still ownes the old Oprah house and 1/4 of the north side of Front street even now. I lived there for 32 years and her name might ring a bell. :o)

Hi Marsha!  I was born in Toledo but moved to Florida when I was fifteen. I hadn't been back there until 2005 when I attended my niece's wedding in Boyne City, Michigan. Boy, things sure changed in 48 years! The first few years I was down here I wanted to go back, but I have called Florida my home for a long time now. My mother attended Whitmer High School and my father went to Scott. I actually lived in Michigan the last four years I was there, but we lived over the state line and even had a Toledo, Ohio mailing address. I went to school at Bedford in Temperance, Michigan. In 2000 we had a lot for sale here in Okeechobee and eventually sold it to a gal and her husband who graduated from Bedford. Small world, huh? Looking forward to meet you on Saturday.....joan

wow, talk about 6 degrees of separation or whatever that game is.  Both my parents my, 3 brothers and I went to DeVilbiss as did my husband.  When I first got married we lived on Fir Drive in Bedford Township just off of Lewis and Sterns Rd -brought our first baby home there :-) Moved then to Staunton Virginia and then moved to Melbourne in 1997.  My Mom and Dad still live in Toledo so I go back regularly.

I did get Saturday off, so my daughter and I will be there.  I don't know, yet, if I will have any show & tells though.  I haven't been in the sewing room for quite some time now.  I do have some projects I need to get to, but don't know if I'll have time before Saturday.

Sorry I haven't been on much lately, things have been kind of crazy around here the past couple of weeks.  I've been reading everything when I get the chance, but just haven't had the time to reply.  I am sooooooooo looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday.

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Isn't it amazing how close we all were at one point in time???

Kath, My grandmother (my dad's mom) was a Froehlich,  her brother Fred and wife Tec lived overlooking Suttons Bay TC areabefore moving to FL in the 80"s(?) He was a big wig for Ford. They use to vacation at a place that you could see Pigeon Island (?) and they walked Christmas Cove. Don't know if they even call it that now. It was a cottage that was built n some Indian Chief's reservation or something like that.

Judy, My friends from Vicksburg area were actually in Scots their name was Papesh and Clinger.  Her name now is Bowers and he comes from Galesburg, Richland, Delton.  Such a small world huh?

Then I had an Uncle on my mom's side that ran the Thom McAnn shoe store in the Miracle Mile in Toledo.. know where that was girls from Toledo?? They lived in Sylvania by the drive in (that's not there now ...lol)

Also my mom's family all migrated to Benzonia County, part of them owned the Cherry Orchards and the first Garbage trucks ..  Have cousins up there I've never met and don't remember many of the places we stopped as a kid to visit mom's ...TOO many years over the waterfalls..

    Three days and counting

I know what you mean about projects, we were so new to it that we are proud to give away all our projects.  We have made examples of the embroidery but no current projects.  I can't wait to see everyone's projects.  Elaine S

    Lynn,

We lived on M22 overlooking Suttons Bay for eleven years w/ our first three children, before moving to FL!! I went to school w/ a Karen Froehlich, but that was in Traverse City, about 15 miles from Suttons Bay. The Indian Reservation you are talking about is Pshawuabee Town, which is a National Indian Reservation. It was established in the middle 1800's by Fr. Piere Marquette and is one of the last National Indian Reservations in lower Michigan. I taught Catholic Religion classes out there for six years, as I am an American Indian also. It was a wonderful, simple time of our lives...the kids were little and the worries were littlier, too. Pigon Island (near Northport, MI) was a popular place for fishing too...and Christmas Cove, off of Lake Leelaneau, was very close to Glenn Arbor, where the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes are. This is simply amazing!! And to think...only six degrees!! :o)

Marsha - I remember the Miracle Mile very well. My Dad always took my sister and me downtown Toledo to do our clothes shopping before school started - that was, until the Miracle Mile opened. That was in probably in the 1955-57 time frame. Do you happen to remember Otto's Variety Store in Trilby? When my sister was learning to drive, she drove right into the big tree that was in front of the store. Scared me half to death! We built a house on Smith Road in 1954 but I remember Sterns Road and Lewis Road too. I remember there was a drive-in close to the Miracle Mile shopping center, but I don't remember one in Sylvania. I left there in 1957 so it may have been build after I came to Florida. Wow! The memories keep coming back that I hadn't thought about for years!!!....joan

I certainly hope to be making some new friends on Saturday.  I've lived here for 2 1/2 years and only know a few people from our church.  I am looking forward to meeting all of you and putting faces to names.  Everyone here seems to be so friendly.

This is wonderful news Roseanne! I am so glad you are going to make it Saturday!!It does not matter if you have anything or not, just having you there is enough.Smile

Today is one day closer! I can hardly wait until then to see all of your smiling faces, and after yesterday I need to see smiling faces! Oh wow,did I have a day! Everything I touched went south! It started with me leaving my debit card in the teller machine and got worse from there,LOL. I finally just tossed everything in a pile and walked out the sewing room door, after I sewed a design on back wards,I decided enough was enough,LOL. So I sat in front of the TV the rest of the day,it was the only safe thing to do. I was afraid to touch anything. So I certainly hope today goes better. Oh and BTW, just an FYI,the bank teller machine sucks your card in if you don't remove it within a certain amount of time,it is a safety feature. Good thing!

Glad to see so many of you reminiscing,it is nice to find that we all lived so close at one time.To think we never knew each other amazes me.so close ,yet so far. Will be nice to see you all on Saturday and get to know you all better.

Just so you guys know,I spent my new machine money on my cat at the Vet the other day(419.00) so I get to start over, bummer, but for a good cause.I am not sure he is feeling much better. I will let him go for a few days more to make sure but not sure he is going to make it. He still seems so dumpy and not himself ,and I have noticed he still is having trouble getting around a bit. We will see.Oh and BTW,none of the tricks worked, lol. He ate the ham and spit out the pills,he refused to eat the tuna(his favorite ) so will try putting them in a piece of chicken but my guess is he will spit them out there as well.He is just too smart! So I am back to shoving them down his throat, and that is not an easy task,it takes two of us to do it and am still afraid I am going to get bit at some point, lol.

Well back to the sewing room with me! It is 5.30 am and can get some things done while I have some peace and quiet,LOL!

    Later all..................Have a great day!Big Smile Happy Stitching!Big Smile

     Judy  Smile

Help me to start each day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude!

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Roseanne, Know the feeling of living somewhere and NO friends ..when i remarried and moved back to Mich.. I went 6 years without "my" friends.  There were his but no one for me to say, hey lets go have lunch UNLess I called my gf that lived 2 hours away and we'd meet somewhere 1/2 way for each of us.

A year before he died, my friends became people I had met here in Fla, people that were wintering and lived in Mich. Both lived 45 min to an hour away but both came to my aid when I needed it the most.  SO, Friends don't have to live next door to be really special, I've been in this park 6 years and I still don't have many people to say, Hey want to go shopping ?? My church people live scattered except when we meet for quilting and the people in the park..  StormWELL let's just say I'm a happy person and I'd rather stay that way. HA

Even with the price of gas...I'll go when I need to go and if that's seeing a friend that needs attention.. I'm GONE! and I'm sure everyone of you can relate to that.  So if you every want to have some fun time.. call me and we'll go do something.. I'm only an hour away... I'm sure we could find some trouble to get into AND you have a daughter to do things with, I only have a brother that's in Mich unmarried and a son and family that's TOOOOOO busy so it's ME MYSELF and I most of the time.  But I'm not complaining, I think I make myself pretty good company.Big Smile

Looks like I might be into a little bit of rain today, have missed most of what everyone else has been getting this week, drats, we need it lake is still down a good 2 feet.  So I'm off to the sewing room, mainly to clean it up, it's been utter chaos for a week and I need to find the bottom of it and pick up the tray of pins the cat knock off down behind my sewing table..

Speaking of cats.. hope your kitty perks up pretty quick Judy, mine have been acting a little off this week, so he might just be having a little off time as well as being sick.  Ya know how it is when you get OLE you just don't bounce back as fast from anything....

    two day left.. YEAH!!!
