the patterns are neat and your suggestions are really good, can't wait to try them, Bob is now into trying to do applique and so the machine only thinks it embroiders, just kidding but he does tend to hog the machine.  If he decides to buy his multiple needle machine, I can actually get used to sewing on the Janome single needle.  He bought the machine for my birthday last September and I have only sewn six or sevenregular projects on it.  Just pillows, pillowcases for Christmas, they are magic pillows for the kids, and done some mending. I made embroidered felt vests for two of the AMG dolls for the granddaughters at Christmas, after all, their dolls needed Christmas presents too.  NOw I bought them each a second doll and so I need to make some more vests.  I believe today is the first day in a long time that the van or the truck didn't go somewhere, with this gas shortage we need a few more days of that.  We have 3 trips to Orlando next week so we need to save some here.  outrageous is what it is the high gas prices, we paid more when we lived overseas and never thought we would see it here.

He may as well go buy the thing as long as he visits it so often,LOL ! He will end up with the brother,I know that is how Tom does it too. He drives me to distraction for weeks until I finally say,Look you know you are going to buy it ,so do it now and get it over with,LOL .  I am waiting to see the new brother coming out soon,I think it is going to be a great machine, but I bet it is pricey. they keep sending me e-mails about it so it is driving me nuts to see it. I really need to update my machine but won't spend as much for one as I did this one again. they are changing too fast now with the advances in the tech world.

I wished I had known about this stuff when I was making AMG clothes,Lord did I fight with those patterns,LOL. I had a bunch of things made up for her so gave them all to her when we left Michigan a few years ago. Now she is 15 going on 30,LOL and no use for dolls any more.

Yes Tom and I are much more conscious of where we go with the car and do we really need to go there in the first place or is it just to get out. It is hard for all of us to make these changes since we have grown up being able to go and do anything any time we wanted to.We try to combine errands into one trip so it makes it quite a day by the time you do all in one day. If we go to Brandon, then I make a list of things we need to do while there. It makes it much more efficient that way.I try to take the golf cart when ever I can too and that helps a lot.

Just learned that our area is slated for a big lots store. That will be nice,it will give us a bit more variety in this area, still wish we had a fabric place here. That is my only complaint here is that we have to go so far to get to any good stores.the only thing here is grocery(lots of them) dollar stores and beals, wally world and thats about it. Lots of banks! But no Joanns or anything like it.Now that wally world quit handling fabric and notions I have to go to Brandon or bradenton for stuff,Brandon being closer.I need to learn what else is there I guess as far as fabric places and the like.(can you tell I don't get out much LOL) After all my years of working two and three jobs,it feels good to stay home for a change. But wished I could have had the chance to do so when my kids were growing up.The Lord gives us obstacles to see how we handle them,I defiantly had my share of those.I guess now is my time to shine.

Guess what folks? Only a few short days now until the luncheon!! WooHoo !!! The long anticipated get together ! Can't wait to greet you all!! No I haven't heard from Lanie either ,I hope all is well with her. the last count I have for Saturday is 32,so it will be a wonderful day for us!

I finished my one project and now have to finish the others this week. I got the hard one done ,so the rest will be a piece of cake, lol.I just feel like I don't have enough time to do everything I want to do in one day. Sometimes I don't know how I had time to work,LOL !

Later all, got to get to the sewing room, hopefully I can get some things done before hubby gets up and starts bugging me ,lol. He is working on some photography stuff and trying to learn it. He keeps beating himself up saying he isn't creative enough, yeah right lol! I wish I could take a decent photo of anything,LOL. I always manage to cut something off, lol.

See you all Soon ! Happy Stitching Big Smile

Thanks Kath for the site, cute patterns, starting to download now while the sun is shining...LOL  I know what you mean about the storms. Seems I'm shutting down almost everyday, rain is ok, but the booming and banging is another matter.

Know what you all mean about gas and fewer trips "JUST BECAUSE" I feel restricted HA  I'm so use to going just because I wanted to, now I feel I only go when I "need to". SO you know what Sat means.. got to get everything in all at once so we are all going to be very whipped by time we reach home,  Hope everyone has their "shopping" shoes on...   6 days away.Stick out tongue

Hi Judy! Just wanted to update you; I had originally told you five were coming from Okeechobee, but two of them were "maybes." Well, those two "maybes" will not be able to attend; one works at the hospital and her supervisor is on vacation so she cannot come and the other gal is still in Oklahoma. Both are disappointed but hope to make the next get-together. We had hoped all five would be able to attend so gas could be divided five ways. Always trying to think of ways to save! I have been trying to think of what to bring for "sew and tell" and decided on a nautical wall hanging with tyvek embellishments. Using Tyvek paper is a process I learned at Laura's Sewing and Vacuum during one of her creative classes. We're counting down the days 'til next Saturday.....joan

Thanks for the welcome. I am not sure at this time, but will let you know as soon as I can.

I am pretty new to embroidery, but have had fun adding some designs to baby quilts.

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Wow! Sorry I haven't been paying a lot of attention to this thread lately. Last Sunday I lost my balance on a set of stairs, and fell. I bruised my entire left side, and so now, I have my original problems, and 2 messed up shoulders! Thank goodness, I didn't break anything! I only fell onto a concrete floor, and a hydraulic jack...!!! Then....

My phone rang, and it was my Mother, telling me my sister had been in an accident- she's ok, but the 15 year old boy on the minibike that ran out in front of her is in serious condition (upstate NY) Compound fracture of the right thigh, his head went through her windshield, etc, and lacerations on his head and neck, concussion...he's lucky to be alive, and she almost hit a tree trying to stop, with his minibike stuck under her car! Then...

I call my daughter to tell her, and she asked me if I saw the Sheriff's van parked on the street a few driveways down from hers on thursday...I said yes, so...it seems that a woman's body was found propped against a tree right there, and there are conflicting stories as to what happened, and it's not being reported in the news...3 or 4 driveways down from her house...

It has not been a very good week here, but I am very much looking forward to having lunch on Saturday with all of you in Orlando! It will be a really good break from everything that has happened! I hope everthing is going better for all of you! Until next weekend, take care!

    Dawn,

What a horrible week! It can only get better, just hang in there.

With all of you Florida people getting together, I hope this does not mean there will be no Community Circle next year! I'm not sure how much of a turn out there was, but it's obvious that those of us that weren't there missed out on a lot! I was hoping to make it next year......if there is a "next year."

Have fun! But don't forget about us Midwesterners!

Oh Rosie! There HAS to a Community Circle next year! I live here, and I didn't get to go to it, so it has to be an annual event!!!

It will break my heart if there isn't one next year!   Sad

It will be so great to know a lot of the people locally, and then to network, and get to know everyone from other places as well!

I do hope everything around here gets better! I would like the peace and safety back!!!   Confused

    TAKE CARE!!!

Oh my goodness!!! What do you mean you ONLY fell onto a concrete floor and a hydraulic lift!!?? For pity sakes, woman...be careful!!!!! You are probably finding hurting muscles where you never knew you had any....I am so sorry you fell, that had to be awful! And to hear the rest of your news for the week was unnerving too. You poor dear!

I am very glad you are still planning on coming to our gathering though...you will appreciate the time to "fluff your brain" after that week!

Hey Kath, addy for Golden Corral is 5535 S Kirkman Rd Orlando, it's right at the intersection of I-4 and Kirkman.

Dawn, I so can feel for you... been there done that and it's not a pleasant place to be.  I hope for your speedy recovery back to new.

And who's doing what with Tyvek???   by the way, it's that white plastic house wrap you see on new houses before they put siding on the walls.  I'm interested in this project.  How did I miss that thread??? LOL

Looking forward to meeting all of you... Woo Hoo 6 days away ladies.

    Hi Everyone!

Dawn,Oh my goodness! I am so glad you are alright! What a horrible week you had! I certainly hope things get better for you swiftly,I will send you 10 angels to watch over you and your family.AngelAngelAngelAngelAngelAngelAngelAngelAngelAngel There! Now things will go better for you!

CatC I sure hope you can join us,it does not matter how new you are to this, there is a wealth of knowledge waiting for you. It is a very informal get together luncheon for us in Central Florida to get to know each other better, and find out who is in our own areas so we have someone to do ME with and chat with. Come on if you can,you will have a blast ,I guarantee it !

Kath,I am glad you got the address as I wouldn't want you to go to the wrong place! Thanks Lynn,I have been busy in the sewing room and I am getting my things done faster than I had hoped, but boy the time just flies by out there. I need to get a clock out there,LOL. I was in there yesterday and thought it was about 9 am and went to the kitchen only to discover it was noon! But I have only a few more things to finish off then it can go in the mail. I also made a few burp cloths and some more bibs for the new baby. So I should be able to start my flour sacks today maybe,I got up this morning and have a very sick kitty,so have to run him to the vet at 7:30. He is really sick, don't know what is wrong but he is very lethargic all of a sudden. I fed him and he was fine and an hour later he is very sick. the other kitty ate the same food and is fine,so I am thinking he got into something he shouldn't have. I sure hope the vet can help,I have had him for a long time and he is an old cat, about 12 or 13. I would sure hate to lose him,he's my buddy! He is also the one who ran off with my name tag ,LOL!

I am glad everyone else can come, even with the two that are not coming we still have 30  attending,so it will be a blast!! I am so excited!!!! I cannot wait to meet you all ! I am anxious to see what Every one has been doing, you all talk about these things and I try to picture them but it is so much better to actually see them!

As far as I know there will be a Community Circle next year. I have not heard really one way or the other but the way everyone talked there will be another one. So don't despair! You will have another chance to go to it,and you will enjoy it ,I am sure of that. I learned so much at the event! It is good to learn new ways to do things that are easier. Eileen and Ann and the whole ATG team were just wonderful, helpful and friendly folks! Hopefully we can break off into smaller groups, with friends that are closer for us so we can experience some of the same feelings and lets face it,we all have something to offer another person. We have an opportunity here to take our knowledge and help others. And also to pass it along to others in our group as well, how many folks can say that about their hobby/addiction? I am so looking forward to this and getting to know you all better!Smile

Well, it is back to the sewing room with me!  Have a great day everyone! And as always....................Happy Stitching !Big Smile
