We better bring lots of paper and pens! 

 I also wanted to tell you that your grand-daughters and their dresses are all very beautiful.  They are very lucky little girls to have such a talented grandma. One other thing, do you know if the Joann's Superstores honor the (Joann's) 40% off coupons and internet coupons? Us Okeechobee gals are all looking forward to shopping there!.........joan

All JoAnn's stores take all and any JoAnn coupons as long as they are for the stores not an  online only coupon.  You gals from Okeechobee aren't looking forward to this any more than the rest of us.. lol

I don't know why JoAnn's would not honor the discount coupons. I read mine over and there isn't any place on it that limits it to any specific JoAnn's Store...so go for it!!! There will be a lot of us there to boggle their minds, anyway...so they don't want to mess w/ us!!! LOL

Hello from a newby quilter in the Uk - I hope its ok to contribute.  I am in Orlando each year, we have an apartment not far from the Orlando International airport, I usualy visit for a month andnext year it could be June.  I wouldlove to meet up with some of you girls who ar not too far from me - I have purchased a machine tokeep in the apartment, all my friends thinkits funne going on holiday and having a machine - I love it though.

Im not sure how to send to the whole group, I have just found this site, so hope you dont mind me posting to you, you were the first onthe list -

Hello, sounds like you have a good time while over here.  We have been talking about shops for getting sewing supplies in the Orlando area, what ones do you frequent? 

You are welcome to join the group, do you also do machine embroidery?  A lot of the people on this blog do both quilting and machine embroidery.

What part of the UK are you from?  We used to live overseas in the Turkey.  London and a town near what we called Sherwood forest, were where we went to get real things that you couldn't at that time obtain in the middle east.  We stayed near Stansted a few times and several times were in the London area.

How long do you stay in Orlando?  My daughter and her family live on the east side of Orlando, near the Univ of Central FL.  We visit there frequently.  Let us hear from you

I think it would be great if you were apart of the group.  I am fairly new at quilting but do a lot of ME but I think everyone has something to offer and we can learn so much from each other. 

Besides you could make a great bunch of new friends........

Hilly.....We're so glad you found us!!! Welcome!! We are all interested in new things and having another person on-board makes it all that more fun! Most of us do machine embroidery....some do both ME and quilting, and others do ME and a lot of sewing...so there are all different aspects of sewing and fine needle arts that appear on this site. We are always open to new info and I for one, have never done a quilt in my life. Unless you consider sewing little squares together when I was eleven, sewing a quilt!! :o)

Again....glad you found us and let us know when you are in Orlando...we may be able to meet up w/ you and you can put some names and faces together.

Welcome to the group.  Love to hear that you quilt and will be in Florida.  I am not far from the Orlando International Airport.  Only about a 35 to 40 minute drive.  You said that you are a newby quilter and bringing your machine to Orlando.  Do you also do machine embroidery?  Would love to met you when you come to Orlando on holiday and happy sewing to you also.  Keep in touch with us.

Goodness, you girls haven't been coversating much over the long weekend, does that mean you were having just way too much fun?  How many got their name tags done?  [:D

I see we have another new sewer in our midst, Welcome from me as well.. Hilly.  You will find we are a friendly and funny bunch and most of us will be meeting for the first time in a couple of weeks.  Glad you are joining us.

Unfortunately been away so work comes first before play so have to do laundry and then head to the sewing room.. later all you wonderful sewers

I think I am going to give up on the name tag and just use a sharpie on a stick on tag.  My best friend ( lives in Glen Ellyn IL) called me this weekend and asked if I would make 58 napkins for a party she is giving on the 19th.  My first mistake was showing her how to search for ME designs on line :-) so she has found 8 designs for me to use on her napkins.  Since I have never been able to turn her down I went to JoAnn's and got the fabric she requested and started MEing :-).  Maybe I will have to pull out my name tag from the Community Circle :-)

Can't wait til the 19th :-)

Hi Everyone!

We got back late last night,got unpacked and the laundry sorted.Now all I have to do is get is get it done today. For those of you who have been following the events,I wanted to say Thank You all for your condolences,care and concern.It is so wonderful to have so many prayers in our corner. Also I wanted to let everyone know that Pat was laid to rest on Wednesday last week and her first Grand child was born on Thursday at 2 pm.They had a girl named ,Timberlie June 6 lbs 9oz's. She so wanted to meet her. She is a little doll.So I have to put her name on her blankie and get it sent off to them this week. Again, Thanks to all for everything ,including the private e-mails. She will be missed a lot. I am glad we went as Tom's Dad was not doing well and hung onto us for support.

On to a lighter note, I'm back! So you guys all missed me huh? Just think only a few more days now until Orlando!!! I really have to step up the pace now and get these things finished up,so I will be sewing while doing laundry and grocery shopping.(yeah right,lol) Well I have to say that I missed all of you too and the site. We were so busy,I didn't even have time to log onto the laptop,that we dragged all the way there and back.(we never even turned it on). While the reason we went was so sad,it was nice to see everyone,especially my daughter and grandkids.Tom touched base with family members that he had not seen for a long long time,so some good came of it. I wished we could have stayed longer,and really wanted to spend more time with everyone,but also knew we had to get back.

So ,How is everyone doing with their name tags? I know you all have come up with something great! Mine is laying on the table in the sewing room right where I left it,so now have to see if I can get everything done on my bench before the luncheon,this will be interesting,lol.

Welcome Home Judy,  you can tell we all missed you, it's been pretty quiet out here while you were gone.  Kath had some wonderful photos of things she's done for her granddaughters and a newcomer from England but just a little chit chat.

I've got my name tag done but going to try a few others just because I can.  Have to do one for my friend that's coming because she doesn't have the time right at the moment to do hers and she's a little new to tackle something like that

Well, I've got to get to the sewing room.. laundry is just going to sit another day.. HA
