Thank you all so much for your kind words. We are leaving first thing in the morning, very early, likely around 4 am. We will travel safe and I will let everyone know when we get back. We will be back way before the 19th for sure.Tom is holding up better than I am for sure. She was more like my sister(which I dont have) than sister in law.

I only have one favor to ask of all the ladies out there, please go get your mammograms! Had Pat gone one month earlier she would still be with us today. She had a very aggressive *** cancer.

Thanks to you all and I will talk with you when we get home.

I hope you will check out my blog called, "Stitchin' Shortcuts!",  for shortcuts, tips and tricks of sewing. Thanks to all for the warm welcome to the blogging world! I love to sew and embroider and just plain have fun! Come into the new "Groups" section and say "Hello" to all the folks in Central Florida! They are a friendly group!

    Judy

Help me to start each day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude!

I'm only a young'un, I know, but I have to echo Judy's sentiments. You would not be reading this right now if it were not for early cancer detection with a check-up. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago as a young man with three young kids but was extremely fortunate that it was early enough to be fully treatable. After my surgery, I immediately sent out an e-mail to all my male friends (who are at risk for similar cancer) and told them to haul themselves into the doctor regularly for tests.

So, as Judy says, even if you hate seeing doctors, go out and get your tests!

Great advice!! Ladies...get on your hubbies, significant others and sons to have themselves checked...and you go along for your check up too!!!!

Just some FYI for those of you going to the luncheon...I found another place to visit if possible. Check out the Fabric Warehouse...here is their link. http://www.fabric-warehouse.net/   They are located about 52 miles S.W. of Orlando, right off of route 4.

I haven't been there, but when you check out their site, you will see it would be worth the trip if it is not too far out of the way. Of course, it's not as close as JoAnn's in Orlando, but they have three locations within eight miles of each other...w/ every type of fabric you can imagine!!! (so their site says....:o)  )

First, for those backing up embroidery designs on flash/pocket/travel/thumb drive, buy.com has 4 GB drives on sale for $14.95 with free shipping. I'm not endorsing or recommending buy.com, but I have purchased from them in the past and been very satisfied. Ditto that Kingston is a reputable brand.

Second, Kath, I've been thinking of Fabric Warehouse as a good destination for a day trip some time in the future. With the magnitude of my fabric sta . . . er . . . I mean collection, I'd be going mostly to look and stroke and wish. Living in the city, an hour's drive to a fabric store would be a special, not a daily event. At least at JoAnn there's a plethora of products other than fabric. Devil

It's been many years since frequenting Fab Warehse and it's surely grown, I'm happy to see Becky and mom Dody are still running the show, in the first pic of them in front of the sign the short darked haired girl, I want to say her name is Deb runs the sewing machine end of the business, They are super people and with the expansions I've seen listed, I might even start making day trips for classes again.

They seem to offer things I use to do at my fav shop in Mich. they cover all the bases, heirloom, embroidery, quilting, sewing 101 and just other fun stuff. Took me 1 1/2 hrs to get there as well.  Might be a rendezvous for a day trip gals????

With so many of us out here I am sure Judy's journey is under the protection Angel's wings from all our our prayers and wishes.  Many of us know what she is going through so more prayers be with her as she is away from the comfort of her home. May she be strong for herself and those that need her strength.

Great news on the 4 GB drives...I have been paying $22.00 plus for a 2GB, so that is a very good buy!!

On the Fabric Warehouse...I agree...great day trip..however; we are coming 2 1/2 hours north for Orlando luncheon, so an hour backwards, towards home, isn't bad for us!! Snicker! They also have lots of trim, yarn, craft ideas and decorative fabric...so their site says....sooooooo, we were just thinking of incorporating all in a day.

Besides...with my hubby along (I am having him bring a book and a thermos of hot tea) maybe he will leave Eleanor and me alone long enough to do at least a quick trip through!! :o) I have never been to the Fabric Warehouse...so will be a first.

Thanks on the 4 GB flash drive info...I will check those out now!

Boy the website sure is quiet today.. Where are all of you ??  if you aren't on here I hope you are busy sewing on your name tags.

Kath if you are 2 1/2 hours north of Orlando that would put you up by me near Ocala.. I was thinking you were on the east coast.  My mistake.

I've been down the last couple of days with bad allergies and sinus headache.  I've been playing around with my software and I think I've come up with a name tag, just have to stitch it out to see if it's going to work.  Will let y'all know.
