Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Hello Everyone!Big Smile Got to make this quick as it is already starting to cloud up out there and I hear thunder again.

You are all very welcome for the fix, I just hate when that happens! I knew I had seen it somewhere and just lost it there for a bit. Stuff like that bugs me ,so I keep looking until I find it,LOL!Smile Maybe BB can use me in support ,HUH? LOL (just kidding BB) I hope everyone got theirs fixed to what they want. Lanie, again Thank you for fixing your e-mail! I was going nuts trying to figure that one out,LOL.( not that I am not nuts anyway,LOL)

Saw all of the posts this morning and I am so glad you are all feeling so comfortable in here!Smile I am so looking forward to meeting you ALL ! So far we have 30 people signed up for the luncheon, that is just amazing!!!Yes

You will all be pleased to know that the bath is DONE! I just finished this morning getting all the stuff out of the back bath into the new one. I love it,it came out just like I planned and is so fresh and bright! That room was kind of dark, and the wallpaper was really bad, lol. I will post a couple of pics when I can so you all can see the difference ,Wow!

I saw the new Designer Diamond last Sunday at our Joanns. They actually have a Viking Dealer in the store. It is defiantly a WOW, but the price absolutely scared me to death! Then you have to buy all the stuff extra as well so it makes it so not affordable for me. As much as I would love to have one ,it is not going to happen any time soon, lol. It is just not a justifiable item for me.I want to update my machine, but can't spend that much on one again.I thought I was going to have to do CPR on hubby when I got the first one,LoL.

I hope you all saw the link I placed here this am, It looks like a good deal on the sweat shirt conversion. In fact I ordered one as well .That price was pretty good.I too have been looking for something like that.I saw them at clotide.com but came with no instructions,so didn't order it,and had no designs either, just the pattern for the sweatshirt conversion.

I hope everyone is working like mad on their name tags ,LOL. I finished another one,Just a quickie in case I don't get the other one done in time. Nothing special but it is my safety net  in case I don't.Big Smile

Every day is getting closer to the luncheon, and I am getting more excited,it is hard to hold it down. Hey ,did you guys all see on Ann's home page that Peggy's Stitch Eraser 8 is in and they have free shipping on it right now plus member pricing as well!........................Cool!Yes

I think that about covers it here for me and have to go as the LightningParadise is getting worse and closer,So bye for now.Take care all and I will check back later with you all. If you need me for anything ,just give me a shout !!Party!!!Umbrella

Hi Judy, Thanks for the information on the emails,

I think I qualify for the live in Central Florida, my son lives in Clearwater, a brother in Port St. Lucie, a sister in Orlando and my daughter got her Batchelor and Masters Degrees in Environmental Engineering from University of Florida....."Go GATORS" !!! I paid enough tuition to be an honorary Floridian     :D

I just love what I am learning from these blogs and forums, more than any other group online.  Also when I can I put information on for topics I know about.  If anyone is interested in digitizing software I did 2 info's earlier today. Check the leads below.

OH!!!!!!!! I record the tv show Simply Quilts on HGTV and there was a lady named Patricia Nelson that does some of the most unusual, creative and beautiful things with free motion embroidery on quilts.  This is the link to the particular show that she was on and thought that if you want to really jazz up something you are working on you would be interested in this, she really has some great techniques to create designs. Just FYI  : D      http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/shows_qlt/article/0,1805,HGTV_3876_3005650,00.html

Happy Embroidering, Digitizing and all the other fun things you are learning and doing. Carol aka alssweetheart  : D

Oh, Carol, you had me going there for a while. Until you got to that "Gator" thing. I graduated from Florida State (Go Noles!) in 1965, My sister in 1970, my daughter in 1990, and 2 nephews and a niece somewhere in there. When I went to college "nice" girls didn't attend the University of Florida. Until 1948 Florida State had been Florida State College for Women and the University of Florida had been Florida Men's Seminary. After WWII, the handle all the returning GIs attending college on the GI Bill, both schools became coed. In 1961 the ratio of men to women at UF was still something like 5 to 1. My father wouldn't have let me near the place! Devil

Living in Florida I haven't made any of the sweatshirt jackets, but I did make a i-shirt jacket at a Margaret Tulley (the best!) serger workshop. Anyone making these jackets, remember to get a sweashirt or t-shirt 1 size larger than you'd normally wear. First, you're going to be cutting some of the shirt away and second you're going to be wearing it over another shirt.

My residence history? Born in Allentown, PA. Moved to Miami Beach in 1951. Was in Tallahassee for 4 years while at college. Lived in North Miami Beach for several years, then back to Miami Beach until moving to Orlando in 1981. And here I still am. I grew up, mostly barefoot, in south Miami Beach before it became trendy South Beach. It was a grand place to be a child, then.

    Ann,

I was born in Allentown, too.  Although I was only 3 months old when my mom moved us to MD.  When my dad was still alive, I would go visit him, he lived in the small village of Alburtis, near Trexlertown.  I've only been here for 2 1/2 years.  I grew up in MD, moved to VA in 1985, moved back to MD in 1988.  We then moved to South Central Pa, the little town of Hanover, until 2006 when we moved here.  I imagine this is where we'll stay, hubby absolutely loves it here.

Lanie, you are very welcome and I am glad we found the book you needed.Yes we are getting some much needed rain here. It has been so dry up until now. This is usually our rainy season, but the last few years have been particularly dry,so we can use to fill up our lakes again.

Carol, glad you got the information about the up coming event with Eileen,I was not sure if that was anywhere close to you or not,but sounded like a good one and was not sure if you had heard abut it at all. I am also glad you are so enjoying the forums and blogs, and yes I read yours yesterday, thanks for the info on that one as well. I have been looking for some digitizing software as well, but have not made up my mind yet on it.I prefer easy! I am not exactly a computer genius ! Me and Ms. computer( I call her Matilda, lol) have our days to be sure! I had something before and it was way too difficult for me to understand,so I just gave up on it after about two years of struggling with it.I sometimes watch that show but must have missed that one,but there are several good ones I do watch and pick up lots of good ideas on them.Oh and yes you qualify to be an honorary Floridian! You take care and hope you get to go to the show.E-mail me once in a while and let me know how you are doing.

Well, that's it for me,I have to be at the doctor at 9:15 so had best get moving.Lots of chores before I go.

    Later everyone!Big Smile

I was on the 6th floor but I don't remember the room number. It was a single room that backed up on the elevator. My sophomore year I went through 2 roommates and got the single in my junior year. I was home interning the second trimester of my senior year. I didn't even go back for graduation.

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Well.. I don't know about you all - Even living in the Keys I still wore sweatshirts. Have a closet full of them now that I  wear, north CF gets really cold, even have a "winter" coat HA HA.  I guess my blood got a lot thinner than yours  HA.   Ann, you are right about buying them one size bigger, I usually buy Mens sweats to make mine, they have a different cut that hangs over other clothing better for some reason.  Took 4 of them up to my mom in GA in May that I embroidered on.  She gave away the one that she especially wanted - I bought another of the color she wanted (luckily there was one left) so I will be making her like it again before the years out.

I remember South Beach before it was "SOUTH BEACH"  Can't say it's any better now.. a lot of the nostalgia is gone.  My son started surfing up there when it first started being the "IN" spot.  BUT I'm a little younger than you all....Stick out tongue  I was accepted to attend Biscayne College, I would have been one of the first extremely untanned people to attend, thought that was creating a few too many waves. Opt'd out. I worked for Southern Bell as info operator, had all those hotels numbers down in the memory.  Moved up to Narcoossee in "80 stayed a year before returning to the Keys, didn't like Osceloa cnty, but it was fun going to Orlando the back way up 15, Airport was a snap, No traffic, not anymore  UGH. Boggy Creek road wasn't ..except Soggy Creek  I do have to admit, Osceola was better than Highlands cnty,  the best view of that place is in your rear view mirror and it hasn't changed much for the good.

Thanks lanie, I do have a Viking dealer here in Ocala area but he's been so rude to me the 2 times I've called for info I refuse to deal with him and I told him I'd drive to Jacksonville (visit the grand daughters) before every purchasing a machine from him.  I did that with the dealer in Lake Placid, was down right rude, went to Lakeland and bought my viking.  Returned to tell the guy that he'd lost a sale throwing the bill in his face for being rude.  Why are "men" sales men that offensive sometimes?  Where I bought the lastest machine in Lansing, the owner is a horrible person and she's well known for her rudness through out the United States.. isn't that a great thing to be noted as, "mean and rude"?  BUT she's the Largest Viking dealer around with 7 stores and satellites just in Michigan.  I'm sure she's hurting at the moment. I only bought there because ALL of her employees make up for her rudness.  They are wonderful, just don't deal with Anita unless it's to smile sweetly and ask her if she's having a wonderful day.  I'm really a nice person folks.. just sounds like i'm not..

Off to shower and sew.. don't have too much fun ladies,  it's looking nasty on this end of CF so will be shutting down the computer  60% and it's starting early... ta ta
