Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Hey, Ladies...I had a special treat today while at a sewing demo w/ Margaret Tully at Laura's Sewing and Vac shop in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. I was able to meet one of our group! Joan and a couple of her friends from Okeechobee were there to take the class too. It was great to be able to meet you, Joan...and your gang from Okeechobee. I was nice to put a face to a name. I KNOW everyone is going to enjoy getting together in July!

It was nice chatting w/ you and I am looking forward to seeing you again in July...hopefully the two "maybe's" will be able to attend w/ you also.

    Hugs...Kath :o)

    Hi Roseanne!

If you worked at the JoAnn's in Orange city, I probably would recognize you, by face anyway, but maybe not by name. I went in there quite a bit towards the last days of it's existence.

I am so surprised to see so many replies from our area! I had no idea there were so many ME people here!

I have to email Judy again, to ask if my daughter can come to the lunch, even tho it's after the 20th of June now. She just got her first sewing machine, and it also is an embroidery machine. She has watched me for years doing this, and has decided to get involved!

Can't wait! It's going to be spectacular! By the way, what kind of software do you have?

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Of course your daughter can come Dawn ! I actually told them that we may have a few more than what were on my list,so it is not a problem. I just needed a more real number to tell them so they would have some idea of what to expect. It might scare them if all of us showed up with no warning,LOL.

Looks like lots of chatter on here yesterday! Sorry I missed it ! I was working on my name tag for the luncheon, it is going to be wonderful(I hope) if it comes together like I hope. So between that, running to Joann's for a few things, and helping Hubby with the new bath and trying to get some sewing done.Let's just say I had an eventful day,LOL !

I would like to take the time now to welcome any new comer's we have ! You have chosen a great forum as well as a great site! Lots of info in here for all the new ME's and if you have any question about anything just post in one of the forums and someone will answer it for you. There are about a million years of experience on this web site !(just kidding,No I am not trying to date anyone, lol)Wink Not to mention , Lots of very friendly and wonderful folks in here !! I hope some of the newer folks have read some of the blogs as well, they are fun and full of information. So stop by and take a peek at them,I know you will enjoy them as much as I do.

I am getting more  and more excited about July ! I am trying to stay focused on my projects but it is so hard !(not to mention, hubby interrupts me every 5 minutes). I will have to work like mad to get them done in time,in fact that is where I should be instead of on here,LOL. So with that note..........................back to the sewing room with me !!

Take care all, will be back again soon to say Hi so yo know I am still here.WinkParty!!!

I hope you will check out my blog called, "Stitchin' Shortcuts!",  for shortcuts, tips and tricks of sewing. Thanks to all for the warm welcome to the blogging world! I love to sew and embroider and just plain have fun! Come into the new "Groups" section and say "Hello" to all the folks in Central Florida! They are a friendly group!

Judy, I agree with what you said about retirement!  I have been retired for a whole year now and can't imagine how I found time to work!  It has been so much fun working on projects I didn't have time to do while I was working.

I am learning how to quilt, getting better at machine embroidery and ME on my quilts!  Whooooo Hooooo!!!

I have a Viking Designer SE for sewing and embroidery and a Viking Huskylock serger.

Can't wait to meet everyone on the 19th.  It will be so much fun!

    Hi Dawn,

I have the PE Design7 software, but, I don't know how to use it yet.  I bought my Brother 700 and the software over at the Sewing Garrett in Daytona Beach and I can't seem to be able to coordinate my work schedule with the class schedule.  I've got to try harder though cause I need to learn this.  I really have to see if I can figure something out for my name tag, though, before the lunch.Embarrassed

I usually am up early, anytime between 3 am and 7 am,lol depends on how much pain I am in. Sometimes wakes me up and then can't get back to sleep. So I figure I may as well get to work on things, lol.

I cleaned out my e-mail so it should be fine,I had 78 messages yesterday,so is no wonder you couldn't get in there. If I don't get to them right away sometimes it quits on me,LOL.

Well,we got the wallpaper border up ,much to Tom's complaining,LOL. He said, don't ever buy any more like this stuff.! It was scalloped, lol and he had a fit!! Oh well looks good now and thank goodness it was a small room!

I think now maybe I can get back to the sewing room today,I hope! My hands are not working well today for some reason, and all swollen too,so not sure how much I will accomplish but will sure give it the 'ol college try ! I have got to get these done and Tom is anxious to get the bath done as he wants to go to Key West for a few days before our luncheon,he has never been and it has been a long time for me,so will be nice we can share the experience together.

Well, off to the sewing room before he sees me here at the computer and puts me to work ,LOL.

    Party!!!Left Hug

    Coupla things . . .

PE-Design- I'll be happy to have some informal classes in my home for those of you who want them. You need to have a laptop so you can work along with me. 4 people at a time, max. We can discuss this at our luncheon.

If anyone is interested in having a roster of all our Central Floridians, send me you name, screen name, address, telephone number, email addy and a picture of just your face if you have one. My email address is my screen name here and my server is earthlink, which is dot net, rather than dot com. You all can figure that out, right? Big Smile

The Villages. There is definitely an ME group there. Or at least there was, but it was a large group and I can't imagine that it's been disbanded. I was a guest speaker there a couple of years ago.

Retired? Must be nice! Fortunately both my full time and my part time jobs are doing something that I love so it doesn't really feel like I'm working most of the time and, being my own boss at both I can pretty much come and go as I please. Still, I'm awfully busy and really do need to make some time to sew.

    See y'all soon!

    Hello,

I live in Port Orange, FL, too!   I attended the Community Circle in Orlando also.   I had a great time!  I am new to this "blogging" and message board.   Don't know if I am doing this right...but here goes!

So, I read about this Orlando luncheon....when is this event?   I may be able to join you all.  I don't always have time to read these blogs!
