wow, I learned to sew on a treadle machine in 8th grade, we had electric ones but no one wanted to use the treadle ones and I thought they were fun. When I lived overseas in Istanbul, Turkey they had only treadle machines and they made the most delicate clothes and then hand embroidered on them.  You must win the prize for having so many machines, you lucky person you.

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Elaine and Sandy and Judy too..

are you both planning on going down to Orlando in July?  We could all ride together if you want, my vehicle will hold 4 comfortable, 5 if we suck it in.. Stick out tongue.  Hernando isn't far from where I was today at the Top of the World.. You are about as close to things as Judy located in BFE.

Would love to meet up with you Sandy, I've been going into town only a couple times a week but seems like it's been every other day this week, dentist.. ugh.  We'll just have to set up a time and place. Don't pick too much at my brain it will turn into swiss cheese after tonight... lol

Judy, I think I have a new ME'er wanting to come so put me down for another one coming.  I spent all evening just teaching her how to download designs off this wonderful web site called ATG...Yes (I oops on the last msg. and actually did the thumbs down.. sorry Ann).  It took me a few tries to make it comprehendable for her.  The un-zip part was the trickiest. Then they download into PES and I forgot how to get them converted to her Singer Futura format.. but after 3 hours, She's as thrilled as punch to be able to get some great designs to try out on her new sewing machine.  I knew it had to be similar to mine but trial an error ruled.  I'm sure I'll get a few phone calls over the next few days asking.. HOW did we do that??  But it was fun, she was surprised to hear that a bunch of ladies that don't know one another are going to meet like this.  Why not right?

    talk to you all tomorrow.

    night lynn

    Lynn,Smile

Thank you very much for the offer, but hubby is coming with me as well,so I am going to make him drive,LOL.  Hubby and I are going to be doing some other things in Orlando so we won't be coming right back.Oh yes,I know what you mean ,I am kind of out of the way here, lol. Next time I will look for a better location ! I really wish we would have spent more time looking before we bought here.Oh well,am here now for a long time.I told hubby I refuse to move again, lol. I hate packing and unpacking !

I have another one down for you Lynn, hope she can make it as it will be fun for her ! It is always nice to have someone else around that shares your addiction,LOL.Oh and Lynn,I am constantly asking myself that when it comes to the computer,LOL.Big Smile I usually stumble on things by accident,so after a while I have learned to jot everything I did down so I can repeat it,otherwise it is lost for everSmile

Marge, I sent you the information about the luncheon,so it should be in your e-mail,hope you can make it,we are going to have a blast !WinkYes

Well, I decided last night that I am starting a savings acct. for my new sewing machine. I want another machine so figure if I start this month I should be able to have enough saved in a year to get a pretty good machine ! (Yes Ann I am thinking Brother,LOL) I am starting to do some research to see what I really want in a machine, then decide from there how much it will cost me ,lol. I was looking at a 12 needle as well, but I am kind of on the fence about it,I am worried that I do  not have enough space for it,unless I completely take over the guest room, lol (which is what I wanted to do any way !) I have lots of time to think about it and do my research, when I find the one I want ,then I will post a photo of it at my computer so I have to look at it every day, that way I tend to stay more goal oriented. If I have to look at it every day, then it reminds me why I can't but that new outfit,or new shoes(ouch that hurt ! no new shoes?!)

Hope you all  have a wonderful day, keep those machines buzzing...........that is where I am headed again today,(secretly I am trying to stay out of Tom's way, when he gets a hold of a project,he is full steam ahead !)Which btw is coming along nicely,he got the wiring done, and did the dry wall so today he can get the mirror up and the new lights, woohoo. It will be very nice when completed(hopefully before August, lol)

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

Judy, if I am thinking straight isn't SunCity on 27 south of Orlando?  Was thinking west coast area then stopped.. i use to pass Sun something when I headed to Orlando from Lake P...  If I'm right, It would be a little out of the way for me to pick you up.. unless we met at 27 and 4  HA

New Machine HuH?  not sewing with embroidery capabilites but a REAL embroidery machine?  Yes

I was thinking about new ones after watching my friends el cheapo... it does things I wish my top of the line (at the time) does.  It prints little pictures at the bottom of the computer screen in the order of stitching,  How many of you out there have machines that do that?  That was quite intriguing and simple. No more guessing at -what stitches when except by color. I guess machines have come a LONG way in the past 5 years since I bought mine.  Too expensive these days to not think of these purchases like buying a car (20yrs ago)Confused  I like your idea.. start stashing away and when it comes time for that purchase.. poof, the money is magically available.

Well off to the sewing room ..happy sewing y'all

    Hi Judy,

Me again,  I didn't get your e-mail but if you could send it again to I should get it.  The e-mail that is on this page I use only when I am out in 'the net', all the spam goes to that one and saves me a lot of time.

I will get with Jeanne and I know she would love to come also.  If you know of other gals coming from the Daytona area maybe we could car pool it?

Please resend your e-mail to the address I just gave you.

    Thanks

    Marge

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

    Big Smile Hi Lynn,

No, not my Sun City Center. it is 20 miles south of Tampa, off the beaten path for most, and 20 miles away from any real stores other than Wally World,LOL ! We are 7 miles from the Gulf. So when I go to joanns it's a day trip for me as it always takes me a few hours in joanns, and I always plan to do other things while I am there .So it generally takes me all day . If hubby goes with me then it doesn't take me as long because he is an impatient man ,lol ! He hates shopping,so I try to go and not take him if I can get away with it at all.

No I want another dedicated ME machine. I have a great sewing machine so don't need another. I also have a Janome ME machine, but like yours it is a few years old ( about 8)and need to update. I won't get rid of my Janome as I like it a lot,but just wanted something with a bit newer technology.I will do my research and find the one I want then I know how long it will take me to get it,lol. I know I won't spend as much as I did on the Janome as technology is moving so quickly it just doesn't pay.Kind of like buying a computer,by the time you get it home and set up ,it is already obsolete, lol.I know I could probably get one on time payments ,but I think it means so much more if you save for it and just go buy it then.

Later Folks ! I am off to the sewing room again ! I am sure not getting much accomplished ,between Tom Calling me to come look, and laundry I think it is a lost cause today ,lol. the new bath is looking ever so spiffy now.The water is hooked up to the sink now, with no leaks no less, lol. I was impressed ! Now he is finishing the tile work along the floor and has to put in the shower doors yet. but he has all the drywall ready to go ,so tomorrow he can sand it down smooth. He sure does nice work ! He is very picky as he knows I am too,so it better be right ,lol.(just kidding lol) I never have to worry about it not being right,he is tenacious when it comes to that stuff !

Have a great day all !!Smile

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

    Judy,

That's where I thought you were to begin with, spent a lot of time over in that area as well.  You are actually closer to town than I am, it takes me 30 minutes to get to JoAnn's because of traffic and I DO love going without the significant other.  The foot tapping and deep sighs get to be a bit much huh?  LOL   If I'm feeling devilish when he's along, I purposely take extra long to prolong his agony so the next time I'm getting ready to go, he really thinks twice about wanting to tag along. HA

Off to cook dinner.. it's pretty quiet on here today, everyone else must be sewing up a storm  Yes

Oh Yeah we are going to get along very well,LOL ! I do the same thing, depends on my mood !Wink The only reason it only takes me 20 is I am right off of I-75,but it likely takes me at least 15 min to get from the house to 75.For a small community  there is a lot of traffic here as well. Worse in season.

    Lynn,

I do appreciate the offer and hope we can do that in the future but I will be having foot surgery July 1 and would be a hinderance to those traveling with you.  I am truly disappointed I won't be able to meet all those talented ME's as well as Ann Cobb (AKA Ann the Gran!).

Still hope we could get together for lunch sometime.  E-mail me using the Contact button and we can set up a time.

Re: How many live in Central Florida?

This is a note to anyone using any of our forums, but particularly this thread. It is not a good idea to post your e-mail address in any public forum on the Internet, including this one. There are many reasons for this, but the simple explanation is that you will get more spam. Spammers use Internet "scraping" programs that search web sites for e-mail addresses and then insert them into spam databases.

If you would like someone to contact you, ask them to use the 'Contact' button in your post. This way, they can still send you an e-mail without alerting all the bad guys out there to your e-mail address. Please see the following post for more information:

    http://www.annthegran.com/cs/forums/p/507/1205.aspx#1205

Again, please do not include your e-mail address in your posts.

Thanks BB, I have warned them of this before, and I have actually sent personal e-mails as well warning of the problems it could cause them. Thank you so much for reminding everyone that it can be dangerous doing this. We so appreciate you !! i missed this one this morning, obviously I was sleeping while on the web, lol.Big Smile

As a recipient of Identity Theft, it can be extremely dangerous to include your e-mail address in anything on the wonderful web. It is an extraordinary thing, but it can also cause someone a lot of problems. It took me 6 months, and a lot of heartache and running around to get it fixed.

Please everyone be careful out there !
