    Re: Alabama Machine Embroidery

Hi To All The Alabama ME'S

I am looking at upgrading to a Husqvarna-Viking Diamond machine.  Do any of you have one and do you have any problems or thoughts that might help?

    Thanks Judy

    Re: Alabama Machine Embroidery

Mary,   I haven't done anything that was very dense or very  large.  I'm thinking that they may still need wash away stabilizer. I'm sorry if this has given you problems.  I have'nt had any with small - easy designs.  I use a #8 needle and I use the white thread for filling the bobbin on the top for that delicate look.

    Re: Alabama Machine Embroidery

Mary, I was thinking about your question and remembered that this is for working on fine fabrics, not just to elliminate the

use of stabalizer. For what I do (mostly Christening Gowns and daygowns made with voille or super fine pima batiste)

I wouldn't be using a dense design.  Jeri

Nancy, I know exactly where Coker, AL is I live just over the the MS state line in Columbus, MS  I have a Ellageo and have been embroidering for 5 years.  I went from a Bernina Deco 600 to a Ellageo and love it. I love chatting and learning about new idea and ways to do embroidering.  I would love to know a bit about "software".  I do all  cards and free downloads.I'd like to know which software is the best for learning and the most for your money to purchase.  I would love to join a get together learning group in the area.

Hi- I'm from New York, so I hope you don't mind my joining your group as you all seem to know so much about embroidery. I have been sewing since I was a young girl and upgraded to a Viking SE about 2 years ago. I've been embroiderung since I got it and really enjoy it. I am interested in trying to start some sort of home embroidery business and am struggling as to how to get started, My brother has asked me about making hats and tee shirts for a group he belongs to in NC. I have made several tee shirts before but my main problem is placement. And hats.... I was looking at the Big Hats hoop it all which sounds easy to use, but then again it always does until you get it home. I'd be interested in getting some feedback from all of you. Does any one know which type of hoop is most user friendly and any tips for positioning? Thanks!

Hello Alabama Gang.......my name is Donna and I live in Eoline, AL.  That's OK, nobody has ever heard of it.  It is between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, kinda.  I work in Brookwood, AL, about 10 miles from Tuscaloosa.  I would love to be a part of your forum.

I have a Brother 270D and a Babylock BMP6.  I have been sewing since my grandmother let me sew buttons on her dishtowels, over 50 years ago.  I bought my first embroidery machine 5 years ago and added my six needle last summer.  I do anything that I can find a challenge in.  My favorite is baby stuff.

Please let me know if you girls do a lunch or get together.  I would love to come.

Isn't Montgomery about the center of the state?  Can everyone make it to Montgomery or would Birmingham be better?  Maybe we can find a fun embroidery event we can all meet at.

I have only now realized, after a year on ATG, the comments are posted in an Alabam section.  While I haven't and had time today to read them all, rest assured that I WILL get to them and read all of them soon.
