What software is best for creating a pattern?

I have customizer 10000 Plus for my Janome, using JEF

My husband and I have been trying to work on my business logo to get it to design an embroidery design so that I can use it on my shirts, etc.  Is there any recommendations that would be best?

    Thank you.

You can create designs with the software you already have.  The design has to have sharp outlines and not be too busy.  Practice with a few simple items.

This may help - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0Eq7riBmB4&feature=related  You can subscribe by clicking on the logo in the upper right corner of the screen for this video.

Thank you Pattiann.  Sometimes I do better with visual instructions, so this is a great resource!!  Hopefully I can get work on my logo after I finish some work that needs to be done today.

    Again, thank you.

I also have a question about what product to purchase. Has anyone compared Designer's Gallery & Floriani?  I've downloaded the demos for Designer's Gallery (MasterWorksII  + CustomWorksII)  and Floriani (a pared down  demo version) .The Floriani Pro  would be less expensive because all modules are included and has online help.  With MasterWorksII I'd have to spend alot more to buy additional modules to get what Floriani has in one package. Floriani website has online help but DG doesn't.  But, I've heard MWII is more user-friendly and easier.  Any help?
