I have a PE700ll. I see there is a hoop out there for the PE 700 (sa445) that is extra large (12 x 5). I understand that it would fit the PE700ll but the machine won't recognize that size pattern?? Isn't the 700ll a model newer than the 700? shouldn't it work on there too?? Is there a way to make it work? I'm a newbie, and thought a larger hoop would be great...

I see that this hoop is listed in the optional accessories on the brother website for this model. I would think that it would work in that case. I do not know why it would be listed if you could not use it. Maybe you could contact Brother support or your dealer and they would have an answer for you. If you find something out I hope you will post, as I have contemplated purchasing this hoop myself. Best of luck to you, kt3234 Karen

It is important to note that while the hoop has an embroidery area  of 12 x 5 that does not mean it can create designs that have a embroidery field of that area....the hoop has multiple pegs on it that allow you to move the hoop along on the different pegs to embroider in the different areas in separate efforts. 

As June has explained, the hoop is multi-positionable. 

In order to stitch out a design that is larger than the EM can handle, the design has to be split into two or more sections.   This requires a software program that includes splitting.
