    Emblems

I am having trouble getting my border clean.  I run a running stitch and then trim.  Place the emblem on a tearaway and finish the border.  When I do the tearaway ot leaves a fuzzy edge.  Any wuggestions on making a cleaner edge?

    Re: Emblems

The problem is the stablizer, change brands and see what happens.

You could substitute the tear away with a water soluble stabilzer.

I have colored the pokies (fuzzy edge) with a fabric paint marker, sealed with Fray Check (let each application dry) and then trimmed with scissors.

I use a lighter and hold it an inch or so below the fuzzy edges and they disappear!

I use a medium tear and wash and it does well.    If you do not have this, try using a HOT iron and go around edges.

Here is a video that shows how to make an iron-on patch.  http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/elprojects/SimpleProduct_ELP.aspx?CS_ProductID=PR1276&CS_Category=&CS_Catalog=Elprojects

You can omit the iron-on product and cover the back of the patch with an iron-on product such as Sulky's Tender Touch.  You can also use fusible tricot interfacing from the fabric department.
