I need to embroidery a name and birthdate on a purchased blanket. It is a plush minky feel fabric on one side; the other side is like a polyester satin. Does anyone have suggestions as to what stabilizer and needle size and how to hoop? Thanks for any help.

I would use a wash away stablizer, not hoop the blanket and use a topping. I use the same size needles on eveything. as I buy a hundred at a time.

I like to make a sample of like fabrics first.
I would suggest a tear away stabilizer under the blanket and a Solvy wash away on top of the hooped blanket. I have used this technique frequently with the fuzzy/fleecy baby blankets with excellent results; however I have not tried the minky/polyester satin one. I would urge you to choose a font that is heavy enough to not get lost in the pile of the fabric. Happy stitching!
