    Size of designs

How do I know what size a design is before I download or purchase it?  My Brother PE-150 will accept only 4"x4" hoops.  Sometimes I download a free design and it is too large.  I don't want to have to buy more software.

The free ones are.........FREE......you get what you get.

The ones for sale will indicate the hoop size.

Use this link to download and install PULSE AMBASSADOR.  It is a free resizing program and has a measuring tool in the tool box.  The printed sheet will give stitch counts and show color changes.  The link is http://www.pulsemicro.com/ambassadordownload.  Have fun.

Resizing should be limited to a very small percentage to avoid distortion, thin coverage or "bullet-proof" designs (stitching jammed on top of each other).

It would be best to split the larger design and re-hoop as needed.  For that, an editing software program is required.

Embrid is one company that offers a free trail of Embird Base, which includes splitting.

You already have some software to be able to save the designs to a memory card.  Does it have a feature to reduce designs (tiny % amounts)?

I no longer have my PE 150, and don't remember, but if the memory card will take a design larger than 4 X 4, you may have an edit feature on the machine that will reduce the design.

if you don't mind emiling them to me then I will send them right back to you. If they can not be done I will let you know.
