I wanted to take a minute to respond with an answer that may help you. I own an emboridery business and evey day I meet new embroiderers and I am so excited for them to learn the proper way to stabilize fabrics because it will save you wear and tear on your machine, trips to the dealership for reapair and your embroidery will look beautiful when the proper stabilizer is used. In our shop we use tear away backing for burp cloths/cloth diapers and a water soluble on top. The combination of these two stabilizers will give you great results.
Please do use good judgement and always use stabilizer, it was created for a reason and for those of us who have been embroidering for 10 plus years we remember a time when no stabiizer was available to home sewers, we had to make do and our embroidery always looked shabby. Please, please visit your local dealer and seek stabilier help from a professional, the web is great but taking advice about something this important should be done in a delaership where they can direct you, there are over 100 stabilizers available on the market.
Good luck, I am very happy for you and wish you all the best.
