    Re: Where Did They Go?

    Sue,

By no means did I request that you stay out of this forum or any other forum.  You are reading what I had written completely out of text.  Nor, am I part of a clique by any means.  I simply responded back to your recent posting.  That's what forums do.  Your opinion is certainly as valid as mine or anyone else's.  That's what it is all about.  Objectiveness.

I wish all situations could be handled by your mother's way.  Clearing the air gets everything out in the open so you can work from that point and go forward.  Otherwise, it just builds up to total frustration.  Frustration finally started this disucssion in the first place.  As I stated, I was not looking at personalities or the way things would be handled in a home when bickering among siblings take place;  looking from a business perspective.

You had an inside track on receiving email regarding embroidery blog being stopped??  There are embroidery blogs on the site?!  Very good ones.  This may answser your constructive discussion.......Judy did a Blog for many, many months.  Ineresting and informative.  When asked to partake, I turned down the offer.  However, all of us have posted projects in the Gallery at one point or another ( I think all the ladies above have sent in photos....not too sure, but think so).

I wish the newcomers like yourself, would start sending in photos of your accomplishments to the Gallery.  The Gallery is open to Quilting/Sewing/Embroidering and there is a separate one for Scrapbooking.  Viewers love to see the newest ideas and the talent.

    Re: Where Did They Go?

The email I received saying the embroidery blog is closed was from a person with whom I am friends.  I do not have any other information.

I did notice that the blog area does not have the old embroidery blogs.  I thought that was a good clue.

I have read nearly all of the blogs except scrapping because I am not into that.  I went back and read old blogs which interested me.

I hope Annethegran can find a new embroiderer who will also blog.  I am sure they will find one.

    Re: Where Did They Go?

    Hi Joan,

Thanks for posting what I have been thinking.

I received an e-mail from Greg stating that he has nothing to do with this site and that he has been in contact with Anne and she knows what is going on.  Hope she makes an attempt to join in.

I am going to send a couple of quilts to the Gallery that I finished this year.  I want to see if they get posted.

    Re: Where Did They Go?

Sue -  I, too, noticed that some of the embroidery blogs were missing.  Either ATG removed or person removed themselves.....think they would be property of ATG, but do not know.  But, a little investigative work......found you can still view them if you specifically asky for a situation, i.e.; stabilizer, thread, etc.  I tried two different categories and the blogs did appear.  However, there are so many good embroidery blogs done by others.  The forums as well had so many hints, tips and tricks.  I learned a whole lot in the very beginning when I came on in February, 2008.  When Judy stated in this particular forum that she feels everything is a "blank", it is true.  As long as it fits in the machine !!!! it is a blank.

Marge - SO NICE to "read you" again on the forum.   You FL ladies were so much fun.  I use to love just reading the Central Florida Group discussions.  So much fun.  Heck, I wanted to fly down just for your 'special' lunch.  I think we all distanced ourselves from the site around the same time.  Greg left ATG a few months back, yes.  Oh, I am sure Ann still reads the site....never doubted that for a moment.  I guess you FL ladies quilt in the summer as we in the Northeast do in the winter.  Good for you!  I managed to do a few quilts prior to a "Life Gets in the Way" situation of No. 1 daughter's horseback riding accident; which took 3 months of "Mom, Grandma and Mother-in-Law" time and I am still on standby until October.  I have yet to quilt them out...they are pieced and pinned.  Have, however, managed to sneak in some towel sets for Christmas gifts.  Fell in love with all the new embossing designs.  Can't post them though as they are boxed and wrapped for Christmas.  So, Marge, get your camera out and flick away and post.  See if you can get these FL ladies going again Big Smile

    Re: Where Did They Go?

    Hello Everyone,

First let me say that I am not a part of any clique either. I am my own person.

Second, the removal of the blog postings is part of what I was discussing. Things get mis-construed and taken out of context then people stomp off, take their ball and go home.....not what should have happened. Instead maybe they should take a look at it objectively and ask what can I do to change my presentation of these things.

Third, I don't care if they sell 10 million of the pashimas, what we were saying is that there are hundreds of other blanks out there as well as those and maybe they should be featured for a change. No one was "mad" about it, just back off them a bit and show other things as well. Yes everyone on the internet is selling something.......that is why they are there.

I think all the bloggers and everyone at the site do great presentations. I know how difficult it is to hold peoples attention and do things that are informative and intersting. We all have our favorite ones, which are as different as we all are.

What we are saying is that no one should be made to feel like they are dumb or snapped at for asking a question. While many opinions are great, it can also get confusing for new comers. With this type of stuff there is no right or wrong answer it is what ever works for that particular person.

Everyone should be made to feel welcome. We all have valid opinions, questions, comments and replies. one is no more or no less than another.

That is the biggest problem with the written word is that is has no emotion. You can't tell if I'm smiling or crying or angry. I have a tendancy to wear my heart on my sleeve and sometimes I don't write exactly the proper term or word to get my thoughts across. I have been accused of being a very straight forward person, unfortunatly it comes out that way also....blame my parents!  Smile

It was not intended to force people off the site, it was intended to promote change. It was also to let the ATG site know what folks have relayed to me as to why they don't post any longer.

     Judy  Smile

Help me to start each day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude!

    Re: Where Did They Go?

    Hi Joan,

Got the camera out and the quilts are in the Gallery.  I guess I quilt year round, I really don't put much ME on clothes, Make lots of place mats though.  I have 2 more quilts in the works, one for my daughter and the other for my gson.  Made them both quilts with ME years ago with my first machine.  Well as you well know with the new machines, and the way the designs are digitized my work of then and now look like the old ones came out of the stone age.  So I am going to make them new ones.

Hope you get the time to do some quilting of your own.  I sometimes wonder what our kids are going to do when we arn't here anymore.  I know I have had a lot of Mom,Granma and Mom-in-law time myself.

I hope that this site will go back to being what it used to be.  You are right, I found all the blogs that were done.  AGT has not removed any of them.  Like you said you just have to look for them.  When the site was down this morning I thought that there would be a lot of changes when it came back on line but there doesn't seem to be any.

    Marge
