Hello,

I just installed this software and did a smart update and it asked if I needed to activate my dongle.  I did not receive a dongle with this software.  So I pushed the No Dongle button.  This is for a Viking Designer SE. Any help would be great.

Another matter.  In this software is there away to put a command at the end of a border design to help line up your design with the next one. If so, how.

You do not need a dongle for 4D Organizer.  The Smart Update also works for 4D Embroidery, 4D Embroidery Extra, and 4D Pro, and those do require dongles.  The same routine is used for all.

You can add alignment marks to border designs in the customizing module (4D Embroidery) but not in Organizer.  Your best bet (without additional software) is to print a template of your design and position it on your fabric for determiing the location of each repeat.  You can line up the template with the design already stitched on your fabric.  If you use vellum in your printer you will be able to see the design under the template.

Thank you Carol. I was hoping that the 4D organizer software would have alignment marks for border designs.  I emailed Embird and they do not have anything either. I would buy the 4D Embroidery software but it is fairly expensive and can't justify the expense right now. I would buy Embird just because it is cheaper.

4D Organizer allows us to save designs in a different embroidery format, change to a different thread brand, and add jump thread trims for machines that recognize the command for it.  For any other change we need additional software.
