    Embroidery cards or readers

I have a Sears machine that uses the .sew format.  I just converted to the Vista computer program and my troubles began.  I bought a new adapter to attach my card reader to, but this does not work.  I have an XP program on my laptop, but the adapter will not work on that either.  I'm not sure what to do, but right now I have a sewing machine that I cannot embroider on because I cannot get my computer to write to my card.  Any ideas?

    Hello,

We suggest you contact the retailer you purchased the adaptor from.  Perhaps one of our forum members can help with your question.

    Thank you

What kind of adaptor did you buy?  I also have a Kenmore embroidery machine.  I bought an usb to serial adaptor by Iogear and I have no problems hooking my reader/writer box up to my laptop.  Here's a link to the one I bought:    http://www.iogear.com/product/GUC232A/     I've had mine for about a year.  I believe I bought it at Wal-Mart.  Hope this helps.

Good morning, are you talking about a formate converter or a card reader?  I have the Brothers 750D  Disney. It will sew up to 5x7. Is there a card reader for that size? I haven't called the dealer yet. I can us the usb cord to download them, but there is just so much space on the machine. I have the Ped-basic, but it will only do the 4x4's and I would like to be able to do the larger ones.

It is my understanding that some of the machines have much difficulty with Vista. I chose to stay with XP in order to eliminate any problems with my sewing machine.

Hi. New here, but a veteran when it comes to most problems, issues and resolutions!  Wink

I also have Vista and, thankfully, another PC with XP.  Tried to load the program for reader/writer unit on new notebook w/Vista and there are so many security programs than have to be disabled, I gave up and resorted to the old "monster-desk top".

    Happy Stitching!
