    .......

    Can anyone explain the process?

    Blah blah blaah

I currently have a few free designs from Brother-Usa.com saved on a sandisk USB drive in a folder titled Brother..When I plug in the drive and open it in the Character Decorative Stitch section I do not see the folder nor the files.

Any information would be helpful. Thanks

Because the 'computer' in your machine is there to simply read the designs and process the stitching, you cannot read a design that is in a file folder.

Take the design out of the folder so that you can see the design on the USB stick, like "design.pes" (or your format).  File folders are not accessible in the current machines.

    Hello.

When you utilize a USB drive in your embroidery machine, the designs must be opened in the corresponding section.  Look for the USB Icon on your embroidery machine.  Press that button and designs stored on the USB drive should appear.  Be sure your USB drive is correctly installed and turn on machine.  If a card is utilized, then you must look for the Card Icon, etc.

Speaking from personal experience....two out of three SanDisk USB drives (purchased in WalMart) have given me problems.  I have since switched over to Staples own USB drive and all is well.  Like I said, just me.  Fluke thing.

    Hope this helps.

    Brother Downloads

If these are the stitches you are referring to,,,,, http://www.brother-usa.com/HomeSewing/GetCreative/free-designs.aspx?PARAM=downloadstitches

They are .pum format for the Brother Quantum 1000.

It appears .pum is Proel DOS and can only be read by the Q 1000. ????????
