Thank you, PattiAnn. I did get the blessing of ATG before promoting my other account.
I don't get paid for my blog. It often costs me money to do the projects which I may or may not actually need. I am also retired and it is difficult for me to make ends meet. The eHow account doesn't pay much, so far, just about $15 per month.
Just like you, I have other issues to deal with in life. I won't burden anyone with the details, but losing a roof over my head was very hard for me. I try to stay positive and not dwell on what I must accept. Doing the blog helps me deal with any of my difficulties.
On to bigger and better things. I do try to put something in to the forums to keep it moving. Believe me, I do cringe when I see the Forum posts with my name on nearly everyone of them. However, I try to put something interesting into a category and hope to get some people commenting. I know people read the forum, and it is your privilege to comment or not.
The numbers are down a little, but not out of alignment with other embroidery sites (not all give statistics like ATG). I do try to encourage everyone to support where they learn. It is expensive to have a site and ATG is no exception. Summertime is traditionally down because of kids being out of school, moms don't have the time to go to the Net as much; and many are on vacation. It is a normal cycle for these sites.
I sincerely appreciate PattiAnn because then my name goes off that front page AND she is so knowledgeable. She understands computers and machine embroidery and actively participates in the Forum. That is a relatively rare combination. We are lucky to have someone so willing to share with us all. I learn from her and would love for her to do a 'guest' blog for us all. She can pick the subject and I know everyone would be thrilled with her information.
I love machine embroidery. I love to learn and share. Incidental, when I find something on the Net that seems interesting, I research it and bring it to you in my blog. I DON'T know much, but I check and try to bring a bit of fun to a project. In my Hardanger blog, the person whose designs I used is just like you and me, a lover of machine embroidery. She was able to get a few sales, and hopefully some new clients. She is not a big corporation, just a person. She did thank me by giving me a set of her beautiful designs.
Happy July 4th to all, and to the rest of the world, please indulge the United States for having a day in which we show our love of country. Just like the other countries, we have pride and love for our homeland.
