Uploading files from a USB drive to a Innov-is 4000D...

    Can anyone explain the process?

I currently have a few free designs from Brother-Usa.com saved on a sandisk USB drive in a folder titled Brother..When I plug in the drive and open it in the Character Decorative Stitch section I do not see the folder nor the files.

Any information would be helpful. Thanks

I beleive you are looking in the wrong place for your designs....click on the embroidery edit button rather than the character decorative stitch button.  Once you are there click on the USB button which is the middle one on the bottom row.  Your designs will then be available from your USB drive.e

LPLD2449- Remember that the program on board your machine is not really a 'computer.'  It is a place that the machine interprets what the digitizer has written.  It really cannot do a lot more other than turning or a minimal resizing.

That being said, your machine cannot read a file folder.  In your USB, unload the designs from the folder and place directly on the USB and you will be successful. - Tell me if that does not work, because that is what I have been told.

Still no luck but I will try what you have suggested.

Mamamarysew - I will try the button you suggested, Thanks

Pat71896 - I will take the files out of the folder and try again. Thanks

I have the Brother Duetta 4500D. I will tell you how mine works in case the 4000 works the same way. As said you need to be in Embroidery Edit. Then touch your USB button and then you will see your designs. My machine reconizes folders. You then touch the folder and the designs in that folder will open. I cannot put designs in a folder directly from the machine. I need to organize them on the computer if I want them in a folder.

I just want to add that every once in a blue moon I transfer a design to my USB and insert in the machine and it does not reconize it. I simply have to put it back in the computer, delete the design and retransfer. Chalk it up to one of those computer things you just can't question or it will drive you crazy. Also, make sure if you rename the file you keep the .pes extension.
