    Downloading Designs

I have been visiting AnntheGran site for about 4 years as a registered person.  Last month I took out a membership for 2 years in anticipation of being able to access the New Designs that you have promised each month.  I have downloaded a few of the current ones, but when I have unzipped them and then go to open them in Pfaff 4D embroidery, the computer gives a load dong and a message says 'unrecognised file', but it will then open the file.  If I download any designs from any other of the categories they download perfectly OK.  Can you please inform me why this problem occurs only in the 'New Design' category.

I would also like to know why there are two ways of downloading designs from the categories.  In some of the categories like - Sunbonnets, Snowmen, Clowns, Toys, to name a few, when I download a design the category page stays on the screen and a smaller window opens to allow me to download.  However in other categories such as Trains, New Designs, Christmas, Easter Chicken etc., when I click on the design to download  the category page disappears altogether and when the download is complete I  then have to click on the back arrow on the Windows Internet Explorer to take me back into the designs and it takes absolutely ages to return to the site again.  Surely this cannot be correct, I would assume the first version I have described should be the norm.

I would appreciate your comments on all of the above.

    Hello,

We appreciate your feedback and comments, we would like to investigate why the New Designs are not opening for you.  Can you please e-mail support@annthegran.com including an example of a New Free design that will not open as well as the file format you support.

In regards to your second comment when downloading free designs, you can click the back arrow on your browser window to bring you back to the list of designs for that category.

In regards to why the downloading process is different for some free designs we will look into this and appreciate you taking the time to advise us of this.

    Thank you

    Re: Downloading Designs

I have also had the problem with using the NEW DESIGNS.  They download okay, but when I put them in my sewing machine, it doesnn't recognize them so I can't embroider them.  I have had this problem with several of the designs.

If you do not have a software editing program, try opening the problem designs with Pulse Ambassador (it is a free program) to see if the design needs to be converted to a format required by your machine, or if the design is too large for the maximum stitching area for your machine.

    Pulse Ambassador

How to Convert Machine Embroidery Formats

    Set-up a storage location:

Save your downloads to a folder on your PC’s hard drive and name it so it will be easy to find.

    Download selected files (embroidery designs).

Extract or open zipped files and save them to the folder.

    Open Pulse Ambassador:

Open bright yellow file icon near the top left of the screen.

Find the location of the file you want to convert.

In “Files of Type”, move the selection arrow down to the format of the file you want to convert.

(ATG free downloads are usually pes.)

Open the file you want to convert.

    Select “Open”.

(A message box will appear regarding resizing - select “don’t show again” and the select OK.)

The file/design will appear on the screen.

At the upper left of the screen select the word “file” and then “save as”.

In “Save as Type” move the selection arrow down to the format you want for your file/design.

    Save.
