    Memo Book Covers

I found these great designs. Please go to the gallerie and you will see them listed under Christmas Memo Book Covers and Tissue Covers. I have been having so much fun doing them. They are all done in the hoop, no sewing. I have a request to do them (21 of them) for end of the year handouts to my grandson's class. I found some nice fabric and will embroider My Journal on the cover for them. They were very simple to do, because of great instructions and a lot of fun. You can find them at http://moosebstitchin.net/index.html

I chose Christmas Wish books for the grandkids to write their Christmas Wishes for Santa in, and made a few for the adults for their holiday lists and notes.

I have made a few other projects from this site with excellent results.

I just though if anyone is looking for a fun project to do, this is the one.

If you mean the ones from MooseBStitchin, I've been buying her items and making gifts with them for years. Love them a lot!

    Re: Memo Book Covers

I made one of the memo book cover and love the pattern.  It came out right except for one thing.  My outside edges go upward.  It looks like a butterfly (that what it seems to me).  Does anyone know what I could have done wrong to have created this shape.  I want to do more so I can give them away for xmas.  They are small, light and easy to ship.  Any help is greatly appreciate.  Margie

Thanks for all your help.  Margie

I made one of the memo covers and love the pattern.  My only problem is that my outside edges go upward to where the shape resembles a butterfly.  Any idea what I did wrong.  Other than that the cover looks like it is suppose to.  Any ideas is greatly appreciated.  Margie

    Margie,

I have made 35 of these memo books. I just finished 24 of them for end of the year gifts for my grandson's class. I found a beautiful glittery butterfly fabric for the girls and for the boys I found fabric that had maps and compasses on it. I embroidered My Journal on the front. They have all come out perfect. I am not sure what could be causing them not to come out in a perfect rectangle.

When you sew out the rectangle on the stabilizer take a ruler and measure if it is squared in the hoop. If so all the other stitching should come out ok. If your machine was off I am sure it would show in your other projects. Make sure that your stabilizer is tight in the hoop when you begin and once you start do not adjust the stabilizer in the hoop at all. These are just thoughts that come to mind.

I also have no clue what could have happened.  I've not had a problem with any of Carol's projects. Is there any more info you can give?  Did some temp stitching come out and it move maybe?

I don't know what I did wrong but I made another one and it came out right.  I also made the message center of the MooseBStitchin site and love it.  Plan on making more

I make tons of her stuff.  Carol is really good at what she does and if you don't understand something, she's great at getting right back with you and helping.
